Advanced Manialink?

Post by Heku »

Hello, i'm having AvatarHeaven ManiaLink. it's working goodly etc. but theres just one little "bad" thing...
im right now using QuickManialink (QML), and it only provides 4 avatars per page... so that will be pretty many pages to check through...
so i was wondering, how hard is it to make an "Advanced" ManiaLink like the unc's:
Image
i think that looks really beautiful. and the style is nice! it contains 20 avatars per page instead of QMLs 4...
soo, are there any good tutorials how to make manialink's like that? or could someone help me?
i already have an good idea in mind, i might make an simple pic of how im thinking to make it look, but i would like first to know the base of getting it to look like that (the sidebar and then the "avatar section")
or is there somewhere somekinda "ready model", like the QML...

A basic understanding of the Manialink XML elements would be a good starting point. Checkout Marcel's excellent tutorial here. ;)

Then if you're looking at making it more dynamic, use a programming language such as PHP to generate the content dynamically (data-driven manialink). ManiaLib is a perfect example of this. You'll need knowledge of the language you're developing it in; in this case PHP. :ugeek:
