How to use CrossFire with ManiaPlanet -2-

Please note this message is intended for users of the final release of ManiaPlanet only.

CrossFire in ManiaPlanet is not directly supported by drivers yet.
Though, you can play with CrossFire enabled and efficient if you do the following points:

a) ManiaPlanet.exe is not seen as an AFR-Friendly game (performance will be very bad)
Solution:
In your ManiaPlanet install directory,
Copy our ManiaPlanet.exe file as "AFR-FriendlyD3D.exe"
Please check this copy is up to date with the ManiaPlanet.exe
(only ManiaPlanet.exe is kept up to date by the game updater)
To run the game, execute this file, please do not use the launcher's button "play"

b) Graphic drivers do not support CrossFire for D3D9Ex interface (you can't enable CrossFire)
Solution:
Go to Launcher/Configure/Advanced/Compatibility/
Disable (uncheck) the "Enable D3D9Ex" checkbox.
However, this is not a solution for me and I still receive the error explaining that my driver does not recognise that
Palnet Mania is a supported crossfire application. Resulting gameplay is absolutely terrible and almost worthy of a trip to the recycle bin.

AMD Catalyst and drivers are completely up to date and everything on LuckBoy's post has been adhered to, I hope there is a solution to this soon as there seems to be no way of rolling back ManiaPlanet to the way it was prior to the recent update where there were no such issues.

Any idea's & solutions welcomed as for the moment I'm stuck with no worthy game to play.

After making said changes I don't get the warning, I ran some tests last night and deffinately makes a big difference for me (Ati 5970 ). Although, I couldn't verify the proper way by comparing the Benchmarks, just used some maps I'd created comparing FPS around busy areas. Maybe LuckBoy can tell us if there is a way to get to the config dialog > Benchmark option using the renamed EXE?

Not sure which driver version I'm using so will check when I get home. 11.5

I'm having a similar problem, the performance of the game is stuttery and terrible. This is my setup:

Windows 7 64 bit
Intel Core i7 930 2.8Ghz
6GB DDR3 RAM
Radeon HD 5970 (dual core GPU, essentially a crossfire setup on a single PCB)
Catalyst Driver version: 11.9

My machine is capable of running any modern game on ultra high specs - for it to struggle with TrackMania just shows poor optimization. Hopefully the game is patched with proper support, until this happens or a working solution is found the game is unplayable. It's disappointing, to be honest.

as of 11.9 CAP1, the drivers have CF support, make sure you have the latest CAP installed

Thanks for the reply. Even with the latest CAP installed, I still get the message that Crossfire isn't supported when I start the game, and the game itself still stutters every few seconds.

crossfire works sweet using :-

configuration:
preset nice
anistropic 4x

compatibility:
display vsync off
max frame to display fps
display freq to display fps, both of mine set to 60fps
enable d3d9ex

in game :
bloom - off

getting 60fps constantly.
