Dunno when it will be changed, of if will be at all, ask it to xbx ;)

That limitation is only for the data sent by the script to the dedicated. It is a problem essentially for server managers trying to write/add a map on the dedicated using the WriteFile method. It has no relation with any lags or playing issue.

A note aswell a question in the same time:

Why does a server need to first download a mod and then push it forwards to the players connected to the server.

There are alot of mods that have a mb of 100+ which need to be distributed forward to the players connected.

This way alot of players have a download of 200+ with all mods, replays, sounds.

Could there be a limit for mods in maps? or is this not plausible.

hi, I know xbx u read this, but I don´t know if u don´t like me,
whatever I´ll again post for free :roflol:

this talk about 100+ 200+ I don´t understand sry, but another MB issue is 600!
this is the value on my dedicated_cfg.txt

Code: Select all

<p2p_cache_size>600</p2p_cache_size>
but if I take a look into the following folders, I see some :roflol:
in /CommonData/Cache
1.818 MiB (1.906.046709 B)
and in User/Data/Cache
730 MiB (765.532.074 B)

is the p2p_cache_size a GB value?
pls enlighten me or solve this.

second free fail observation goes to 255!
is this a magic number of nadeo?
any server thet have 255+ Maps, this counter on before joining a server shows allways 255

last one: I am maybe sorry for talkin in previous posts about maps prodiusing high cpu usage,
this are not the maps, this is a mod loaded a very first time by force_mods,
maybe wrong here maybe not, I don´t know, but maybe u can tell me what the maniaplanetserver is doing at this time, becouse the usege of cpu goes to the maniaplanet executable and not to xaseco.

thx

Edit your previous post if you have something to add within, say, an hour of the original, rather than double-posting.

I'm running on x86_64 architecture too, but SciLinux 6.1 (equivalent to CentOS 6). My understanding is the dedicated executable needs a fairly recent kernel, 2.6.15 or later; what is your kernel version?

Try the 'file' command on the executable to see what that reports.

Also, try running the executable directly (with the right options) instead of from the .sh script, it might give a more insightful error message.
