Importing

Post by SiH13 »

Nadeo please do something about the import replay function, it doesnt work..

I want to have like 20 replays on one map in the editor, but when i pick them all, I just get one of them in the mediatracker. Also the import replay function inside the mediatracker doesnt work. It says couldnt import replay.
Ive had this problem since B2..

Also, when opening a replay saved from online play, i only get my own replay without camera or time added so i have to add them both and insert the right time code.. This really suck

Workaround for importing multiple, pre-recorded replays into a track:
  • Try importing all the ghosts into a replay file (Edit a Replay => Select replays => Launch => Edit).
    That way will include all ghosts instead of loading them directly into the editor.
  • When all replays are packed into the replay editor, export it as a clip.
  • Back into the normal track editor, enter any MT sequence and then click at "Import clip".
  • Select the recently saved clip - all the replays should be added to the MT editor.

However - yeah, i feel this function isn't really good enough. I like how you can record and instantly use a new ghost in the MT, but right now it's the only way to import ghosts unless you do this. Imo this is restricting an existing TM1 function, where you could import any replays from any tracks, even from different environments !

Manually saved replays from online play not featuring Time or Camera Race bars sounds real, and i've experienced that too. Offline replays + autosaves end up with complete Time & Camera Race bars + eventual MT, but the online replays are missing them - they are completely blank.
It's pretty annoying when they disappear after loading a online replay.

Yea i know about this, but if you read my ppst i wrote that i couldn't open all of them at once, because there is only one replay that appears in the mediatracker. This happens at your first step;
"(Edit a Replay => Select replays => Launch => Edit).
That way will include all ghosts"
None of the import possibilities works, which is the most valuable function for mediatracker editing. This is bad..

That's strange because i have absolutely no problems importing multiple ghosts into one replay.

Maybe it could just be you. Can you show screens of the error ?

It could also be a problem with the replays. If you send me them, I could try to merge them.
I can keep doing this if this will continue being a problem :)

APPEND: SiH contacted me and let me import and export each replay individually. It might have something with different players that made the replays. Another thing is that one replay was incompatible with the others simply because it was recorded online :roll:

same problem
if you have made more than 12 replays, it bugs sometimes.
but you can fix that by launching all replays except the 12 firsts . then clip them, exit , select the "12's", launch , it works :), then load your first clip, and replace it
;)

another method. open the first replay store it as a clip
open the second, load the clip, replace it
exit
and now you can load all the replays
if not, try another replay

I think it's just a temporary bug, like a car witch doesn't want to start, then you pump on the accelrator (completly useless) and it works

Opening multiple replays only seem to work if they're all completely untampered with, even just opening the editor & saving a replay without making any changes at all will make it incompatible with the rest. :/

So when you try to open multiple replays, make sure they're the original replays, with no tampering done to them whatsoever, keep them separate from the replay where you make custom cameras and such. ^^;
