I just want to play TrackMania 2 Valley. I would like the Nadeo did something unimaginable to the Valley. I would like to block mobile (trains, for example), more gravitational force and more powerful cars. But the Valley needs to be very different than when TM2 was announced.
Let's hope Nadeo to reveal something.

Next environment will be VALLEY (sure on 99%)

Meanwhile, we are taking more time than I expected to launch the tests phases and we still have to take big decision beginning of January about this. And in case you ask, the next TM environment release schedule is disconnected from the Storm one. So, if Storm takes more time, it will just make it closer to Valley release. We are really moving fast on Storm, but increasing the ambition of the title with time. It is difficult to stop ourselves to do it ^_^ The main thing that prevents us from doing it is that we really want to have players to have it asap.

Well, since we already know what environment #2 will be, it might be a good idea to start thinking about environment #3.

My idea is an environment called Appalachia, an area I'm all too familiar with:

Three basic road types: gravel (for National Forest service roads) with blocks allowing for free-form road sections OR enough blocks to allow for a wide range of mountain roads (think Coast's GP track sections), paved with a similar selection to gravel, and freeway with a more limited selection but wider (maybe 2 block wide) blocks. Stadium blocks are as usual but have a rustic, mountain-country (for lack of a better term) look.

The car: Appearance is similar to a Subaru Impreza WRX crossed with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Somewhat slower acceleration on the top end but quicker acceleration on the bottom end compared to the Canyon Car. Handling is a bit looser than the canyon car (at high enough speeds it could start to slide on a long or hard turn) but more responsive with a smaller turning radius. Bounces around slightly more but isn't effected nearly as much on off-road surfaces. Jumps with a slight nose-down attitude and is more sensitive to throttle/brake input while in the air than the canyon car but not as sensitive as the stadium car.

Then maybe we can all be happy TrackManiacs like I remember us always being. :thx:

I don't care what future environments are called or what they look like. Please, however, give us something with driving dynamics like Coast. Heavier cars, less traction, and NOT 1000 km/hr. Narrow tracks actually work when the cars are a manageable speed (like Coast).

Maybe I'm just too old, but Canyon is just too "stupid fast" and arcade-like to hold my interest. Eye candy? Absolutely. Rewarding to drive? Not so much.

If this has already been covered in this thread, please forgive the duplication. Back to TMUF I go! :pil

Yeah, a coast-like environment for people without lightning-fast reaction time would be nice I guess. And it'd be a nice calm change of pace for the rest of us who do have good reaction time.

I hope valley will be more like a rally/coast/island mix. I'm urge for gear shifts problematic, a high sensitively handling car and low speed.
