A few years ago I made a place to store all things TM. Most of the stuff is for TMUF users but the stickers, stencils and horns etc I've collected may also be put to good use in TM2. I've made it a Public Folder so help yourself and have fun :)

Stickers ......... http://goo.gl/KEDR9

Stencils ......... http://goo.gl/8ZCd0

Hi!
I've been trying to paint my own skin in Gimp for a couple of hours now but I just can't get it to work.
Can somebody please make a step by step list on how to make your own skin in gimp?

This is how try do do it:
1. Download and install the dds-plugin for gimp.
2. Paint the car in the "paint here please" layer
3. Flatten the image
4. Save the image as SkinDiffuse.dds in "Documents => Maniaplanet => Skins => Vehicles => CanyonCar"
5. Compress the image to a zipfile.

When I've done this can see it but I can't edit my skin in the trackmania painter.
I can't even see it when i am in the "profie=>vehicle" section.

Is there something I've missed?

I'm sorry for my bad english btw

Yes, actually there is. :) An icon.dds file. :) Should be simple enough...go find one from one of the defaults skins. Paste it into your .zip file. Go into the painter and save your skin, and voila! A new icon.dds file is born! If you're really worried about quality, you might want to make 2 copies of your skin and create the icon.dds file in one, and then transplant it to the other--because in previous incarnations of TM, saving the skin in painter would ruin the quality. (I've heard it does the same thing here, but I have yet to see it.)

Adding to Maupi's original psd file. Here it is with all the different car sections separated for easy painting. Kind of like this (http://forum.maniaplanet.com/viewtopic.php?f=265&t=4537) for photoshop users.
