[TM2] Connection: Cannot Connect To Server (404)

Hi I just bought and installed the game today, and when i launch it I get the error message "Cannot Connect To The Server (404)". Maniaplanet is allowed access in my firewall, I've also tried turning the firewall off. I've also tried downloading and installing the Minimalist Setup with no success, same message. Any ideas?

Can you try to disable firewall and antivirus in the same time?

404 means server not found.
It might be the case that you have messed around in your hosts file (google it). Try to restore it to the original.
Disabling your anivirus will have no effect, most likely, since your antivirus has nothing to do with network connections. That's done by your firewall.

FIXED: Right you were, I forgot I had messed with that hosts file several months ago, thanks for the help

If anyone is curious the file is located in \Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
