Importing guns.

This has probably already been asked (probably in claes' forum), but, say there's a Quake 3 weapons mod, will you be able to use them, with the same models and behaviour and all? Or will you just be able to use the models and sound, like in TrackMania?

I would import weapons and power-ups from Metroid(SCREWATTACK 8-)

And not only weapons but also figures( characters :D )

I think the bad idea is to have access to the stats of the guns. I play Counter Strike: Source and you can download skins. And those skins are only there to make you think that you have, for example, an xm8 to replace your ak-47. It has the sound, the look and the textures of the xm8, but the stats of the ak-47. This is great.

Changing the stats would be terribly unfair. And the gameplay would su** with this (sorry for the bad word). So I think skins could be awesome though. It always cool to change your guns and to have «your» version of the game. It's like the skins in TM. Only the esthetic. And anyway there will surely be mods for SM (mods=complete modification of a game to have another game but with the same engine) so you will have your other guns there :D

Wait a minute... Did you just censor "suck"?

Anyway, i guess your right. But i can think of 3 solutions.

1: It's just skins like in CS.

2: When starting a server, the host would select which weapons to use on the battlefield. The players would then download them, and after that, they would be able to use them on their own server.

3: The weapons are placable in the map editor, so that every map have different weapons.
