Re: Give me one good reason to play TM2
there is no reason to play tm2
it's just lame... and when 100k servers will open it will be just as lame as TMUF went for me after I was 1 month in the top 10..
every freaking week
the exactly same thing
its getting boring (ever thought of changing the ladder system?)
I can't see any advantage of tm2 over the free game tmnf, where you can also have an clan etc..
you like shitty drifts, especially when at the end of the drift the car goes in the other direction you drifted, if you accelerate a little bit too hard? then yes play tm2

Re: Give me one good reason to play TM2
Canyon is the reason to play TM2, as it's the only environment that exists so far for TM2.
The driving in Canyon is phenomenally fun. It never gets boring. I find myself enjoying nearly every track I play, something I can't really say for TMUF.
If you can't play without lag or fps problems, then that's a reason to get a new PC, not a reason to rag on the game.

half of players strongly disagree with you. you're right with one thing tho: almost every track you play is ok. and THAT is the problem imho. there aren't really brilliant tracks, or awful tracks, all tracks are ok. you're playing the same over and over again. The driving in Canyon is phenomenally fun. Re: Give me one good reason to play TM2
The way many of the blocks are designed makes entry and exit from those blocks by multiple vectors a little more difficult than in some of the previous environments. That may be why many tracks appear to be very similar, because you're entering and exiting those blocks from the same direction every time.
But on the flip side, it makes figuring out a track and how to drive the game a lot easier. I fear many of the transitional tracks of TM1 scared off many new users. Often times they weren't the best tracks for online play anyway.
But in Canyon... there are many great tracks still to be found, like this great speedtech track by kamakaze or this fun tech track by DeFacer, or this immersive fullspeeder by smok3y.
And I recommend trying out some of zipperke's blockmixed tracks too, which are really unique at least from a scenery standpoint. Usually they have really fun routes too.
A lot of the TWL tracks I've tried this season are also really fun.

Have got to agree with you. I'm too old to understand how it's all done but I wish someone would start a server with these types of track http://forum.maniaplanet.com/viewtopic.php?t=8545Omnixor wrote:half of players strongly disagree with you. you're right with one thing tho: almost every track you play is ok. and THAT is the problem imho. there aren't really brilliant tracks, or awful tracks, all tracks are ok. you're playing the same over and over again. The driving in Canyon is phenomenally fun. Re: Give me one good reason to play TM2
I really like TM2 because there is so much to do even with one environment. I spent many hours just racing at the beginning. Then I spent hours building tracks (currently I have only released one, but for example I have a map I'm working on from time to time since the open beta in August
). And now, I have spent hours building my own manialink. Once I've finished it, I will probably start racing more again, then concentrate on creating content for my ML. There is so many things to do.

Well, I think I don't. What's the problem with modding?I bought it mainly for modding but that turned out... you know how.

Team Fortress 2 became free after I paid for it. I wasn't upset.metoxys wrote:If it's gonna become free I'd be pissed for the money that I spent alreadyxGEKKOx wrote:Well, wait with me the moment TM2 will become free
Portal became free after I paid for it. I wasn't upset.
A lot of games I paid top dollar for have went on sale. I wasn't upset.
The RAM I paid $100 for dropped to $70 the following week. I wasn't upset.
You can't get upset about such things. You can try to calculate when things are going to shift and try to get the best deal possible.
But I wouldn't trade the six months I've got to play Canyon just to wait for it to become free (if it was to become free).
