Track loading Giving Me Mania

Post by VonTyrconnell »

I'm having this problem constantly and it's driving me crazy:

When I try to connect to a server I get the message 'Could not connect to UDP, falling back to TCP IP'. This results in the track to take ages to load and so makes the game pointless to play in rounds mode (you miss the first round every time because you load too late).

I've tried everything I know how to do: turning off firewall/antivirus, reinstalling, various servers etc. The ports are opened as far as I can tell, but I'm not an IT expert and so I cannot be 100% sure if there isn't some uber techie thing I could do, and to be honest I don't want to become a tech wizard just to play a game - that should be the job of the developers.

When I reinstalled the game it worked in UDP the first time I connected, but went back to the same problem after that. I was on a 5mb connection at the time, so connection speed wasn't the problem. I usually use a crappy mobile broadband connection, so I thought it was just the poor connection, but it's obviously not as after reinstalling and connecting on a good fast line I get the same problem.

Anyone got any ideas? I love this game but this bug and others have ruined this version for me.

I think there are free websites that can test your connection speed. Running one of those tests could verify that your modem is not going bad and that you really are connected at a good speed.
CPU: Intel I7-4770 64Bit @ 3.4Ghz.
Ram: 32GB DDR3
GPU: Geforce GXT 1060 6.2GB DDR5
Windows: 7 Pro SP1 64bit

It's weird - I thought it was because of my usual bad connection but I've been using a good 5mb connection for the last few days, getting speeds of 2-4mb, and it still happens. Tried reinstalling everything, Windows included as I needed to to that anyway, but the problem persists. Anyone else having this problem?
