Cannot Connect to ManiaPlanet Servers

I've been having this problem all day... Every time I load tm2, it tells me that I have to download an update. It update screen shows up, but the game doesn't download anything and tells me "Could not Connect, Error 12002". When I try to cancel the update, tm2 closes. I also cannot log into my player page on trackmania.com. My friend is telling me that he can log into the game and trackmania.com just fine and he didn't recieve an update today. Anybody know how to fix this and has it been happening to anybody else?

Welcome to the world of failed inagme updates.
serious problem for many players.
you can down load and install the update file from here

seriously Nadeo has got to fix this connection problem with their server during ingame updates.
anyway this should help and get you up and racing again.

Thanks for the reply, but the download didn't really help. Tm2 is telling me to download a different update than before and I'm still getting the same error when I try to download it.

looks like you will have to download the latest version and reinstall from scratch

Just wish that Nadeo would do something about this very common connection problem with the in game update process. Apart from the mods here telling everyone to turn off their antivirus and firewalls? which still doesnt help anyway.
Maybe maniaplanet 2.0 will have the magic fix
