Well, that was funny and true. :)

Anyway, I want to add something about insulting KB players by say that they're lazy. I am NOT talking about some specific person. Maybe for someone KB is a conscious choice, who knows.

When I discover that method of steering in United is so different and more "crazy" than in Nations, then I buy gamepad 2-3 days after. I know that if I spend days (or weeks/months) by learning KB then maybe I learn how to drive, but for me that is bypassing problem. Forcing play games on keyboard only because someone use what is currently connected to computer, is a little lazy, isn't? If someone TRY (at least) to play gamepad for few days, THEN back to play on KB then I'll believe that KB was a CHOICE, not something that just exists while installing game.

I can say "yes" for GamePad because I was trying to play BOTH controllers. What is a point to say that KB is better if player never even try something different? And trying to discourage others by saying that KB = GP and if you buy GP then you'll play the same, so it's pointles and not worth even trying? Do someone, who has never played on gamepad, can be equal partner in the discussion with someone who test both controllers and can REALLY say which one is better?

Really the 'Best' way to play TM is the way you are most comfortable with. Thus the option of Keyboard, Controller, Joystick, Wheel or whatever, should always be available to choose from. No one should be forced to play a game in a way that isn't fun for them.

I must disagree. Many people are forced to play game in way that isn't fun for them. For example - island gamepad noslide lovers, who likes precission while turning and now they're get car that turns always slow and never slides on flat surfaes, even at 999 speed (made test and build big flat platform with turbos in Canyon, then try to accelerate as fast as you want and slide without using brake which can be possible if this car is for people who loved slides).

And, what is more important here - you cannot say what is most comfortable if you don't try. "More" means comarsion. I tried play with joystick and wheel (a little), keyboard and gamepad. I CHOOSE best controller for me, but that was a choice. What choice is if you using keyboard because you have one connected to your computer and nothing more?

Do you drive a VW beetle, because you dislike a Ferrari F50? I don't think so. I think, you drive it because it was cheaper and you couldn't afford the F50.
Same goes for wheel/joystick/pad driver. It doesn't matter which one is more suited, it only matters with witch you have more fun. This includes, that if you want to try the alternative input devices you need to buy them to get a comparison. If you are comfortable with the KB, then no one forces you to switch.
But if you come with this example about island noslide.

Island noslide is so much fun, if you have the right maps. On the other side, even with KB you can be one of the best Island sliders. The only thing you need to define is, this here.

What means fun for you? Does it mean to be competitive and being able to crash the WR? Or does it mean to have fun while driving and beating some friends or win a race on a server?
If you want to be competitive, you need to use the steering device which is most suited for this environment.
If you want to be very good on Rally, buy a wheel. If you want to be good on Island, any analogue device is your first choice. If you want to be good on desert, the KB wins often over all other devices.
It doesn't matter which device you want to chose, it matters which environment you want to be good at. And this is the great stuff about TM. You have different environments for different tastes (driving and steering device). And as the cheapest all-round solution, the pad works quite good.

Therefore,i hope the next TM2 environment will be for people favouring analogue steering.

Ok, but I repeat that again and again - if someone want to play KB, then nobody say that is wrong. I'm only say that KB players who never try any other control device and refuse to even try using better control device, should not force their point of view and say how unfair is when using gamepad or wheel gives you more possibilities and advantage. It should not be discussed, it should be obvious - if you spend money for gamepad/wheel/joystick, this is not waste of money that gives you nothing, this is investment in game that can give you advantage. It should be like buying better shoes for faster run - it's not waste of money for someone who wants running faster. And I bet that even in this case some people should say that is unfair, because not everyone has expansive shoes and everyone should run barefoot or use beach sandals (especially when they has one pair of beach sandals on their foots).

Valley for gamepad! :)

PERFORMANCE

The handling should be somewhat tight - kinda like a racecar.
It should also have very little slide - but with some slide.

The speed should be somewhat fast - not as fast as island. It should also have a bit of a coast feel too - but bay at the same time.

VEHICLE

It should be a combo of the Bugatti Veyron and the RallyCar, and tuned a bit.

It should have a sound of a really fast sportscar with the hissing of a turbo.

It should be lightweight and stay in the air longer after a jump.
THIS CAR would be perfect;) it has smoke, flames, sound, raters. and also has steam by the heat engine ^ ^

Guys, Guys!
Valley needs this:

Since ridgeracer got exploding dinosaurs car-azy, osaka eyebo and I thought Trackmania needs this amazing feature too in order to stay competitive in the online-racer genre!

Valley for gamepad! :)
So then you're doing the reverse and forcing gamepad on us...<_< I'm not saying you can't buy a gamepad or use it, but don't force it on the rest of us--or continually disadvantage the keyboard players...

You don't really want to understand my point of view, isn't? Seriously - I am gamepad player who recommend pad to everyone because pad was my CHOICE, not just device that was already connected to my computer while installing a game. Keyboard players are not people who choose anything. It's like nailing using baseball bat, becuase you have one and have no hammer - it's possible, but should not be recommended. I am not forcing anyone to buy a pad, I just force point of view that buing better device should give you more possibilities - like better tires in car, better shoes while running etc.

c'mon, don't forget that TM was made as a game which should be accessible for everyone, no matter of computer performance and game controller. gamepad players have a big advantage anyway, so you want to have envi where gamepad could be the ONLY suitable controller?
