Camera bugs, how do I solve them? [SOLVED]

Post by Elmigo »

Hello Maniaplanet

I've got one simple question: How do I solve the camera bug?

When I'm creating a camera track, I often use key frames to create a nice camera path. The problem is, when I use key frames, the camera starts moving in really weird directions between the 3rd and 2nd last key frame. I don't know why? I remember I had the same problem in Trackmania 1 (Nations and United).

I hope there is someone to help me out, because creating a nice intro video or in-game camera is really difficult when the camera doesn't move the way I've set it.

Are you using Camera Path or Camera Custom?
I recommend using Camera Custom here.

I'm using both. Mostly Camera Custom because this one works pretty much how it's supposed to, but the Camera Path is more smooth. How come that it doesn't work properly?

I agree and almost always use Custom instead of Path now.
Path inertia acts funny in saved EOR replays too.
Bummer.

I'd prever Camera Path if that one worked like it's supposed to. But now I always have to use Camera Custom.

I finally found a solution to even solve the Camera Path!

Look at the second last, and the last keyframe on your timeline.

Image

Make sure both keyframes are set to exactly the same position! This will say: set the last keyframe to exactly the same number for X, Y, Z, Pitch, Yaw, Roll, and Fov. Make sure these numbers are the same for the second last and the last keyframe.

Image

Only edit the position for the last keyframe after they were once set to the same as the second last keyframe.

Well, this should be it. If your camera is still buggy, there must be something else happening. But for me, it works perfect! No more camera bugs!
