Who complains about not having a texture mod? Nobody does.
Not a complaint, just a concern. And personally I dont have a problem at all with custom blocks and I cant wait to see what people do with it in tm2unlimiter. :) Im just looking at it from the community's perspective. Its an option now but if its officially allowed it could be that trackbuilders will have to jump the custom block train even if they dont want to or know how. But u make a point. I dont think using a texture mod has ever been a must by the community so maybe custom scenery blocks wont be either. Custom road blocks on the other hand would really divide trackbuilders but i havent heard thats possible yet (edit. its possible ).

I dont wanna sound too complanish but I just think tm should be simple and the same for everyone. The cars are simple and the same to not disadvantage players and so should be the editor. Maybe I just play TM for too long and became a bit conservative about it, ill leave it at that. ;)

Edit. So I dont have a problem with new scenery/road blocks in the official game but it should be a patch by nadeo. Nadeo is the instrument builder. The community uses that instrument to create. Thats how its been and always should be. Its fairest for everyone.

I understand your point, but I doubt I'll ever agree :P.

As long as Nadeo doesn't support this I doubt it'll ever grow a lot, so don't worry yet. :D

Wouldn't it be a good idea if it is not officially allowed by Nadeo, but every week or so they take for example the best 1 to 5 custom trackpieces and make a little update to release them officially.
Then there could be an extra button in the editor where you can switch between blocks from Nadeo and the custom blocks.
So there wouldn't be that much new blocks and Nadeo could controll the visual of the environment.

i have an idea, can you select the one block that you need more then others? And i will try to make the simple dummy version of it for you, and you will test it. (just remember that we have only collision and simple "out of scene" shading for now).
I am EXTREMELY excited to hear this! Can you describe or summarize what type of scenery you will be going for? Will it be set in a city looking atmosphere, more rural, or more sci-fi futuristic?

One more question...by having this tool and this unlimiter thing, does it mean we will now be able to see mods applied to the map even if the server doesn't have the mod installed?

Hey, Arc_. I know this allows you to make custom blocks in the folders, but can it create a new folder?
Like, if I wanted to make custom blocks, I could place all the 10 current folders in Folder 1, and any custom blocks in Folder 2, 3, so on.
If it's not possible now, do you think you'd make such a thing a feature eventually?

i want to implement three Canyon scenery extensions, nature, industrial and city.
Sci-fi maybe later.

It is possible already, you can learn how it works from manual.

1. can someone answer my post above please. ?

2. can you add mixblock on and off in unlimiter. that would be awesome arc_.

so if you dont want to mixblock sometimes, you just turn it of like the air / ground option.

About compression? Why you do not look at manual?
from manual:
The textures of your model should be in the .dds format. The following compressions are recommended:

Diffuse: DXT1
Normal: ATI2/BC5 or 3DC
Specular: DXT5
