It's very hard to stay positive. I expected that Nadeo would make the release dates as they said before (every 3 months).
Due to that (and more offcourse) I lost my interest in TM after 7 years. I have closed my servers some time ago due to the amount of players that are online.
Once in a while I check this forum just to see if something has changed. My conclusion most of the time, nothing for me.
Ah well, can't play TM forever...
These days I play Wordfeud, it's more exciting and addictive then TM
Good luck to you all...

Dang Eyebo, you said a mouthful a few posts back. Well said.

I would rather wait for things to be done right than to get some rushed out the door crap. There are enough games out there that are quickly thrown together and shoved out to the market. Nadeo's goal is a solid product base that will last for years to come. I say take all the time you need to get it right. I think in the near future people will be glad they did.

The long period of development for many years - it is a terrible nightmare and a very high risk for developers. During the long period of time of their "grand" project may become out of date (especially when you consider "fast" speed the development of even small additions). Buying a game piece by piece (which are created in haste and poor quality) for a long period of time - what could be worse?
How would it become out of date? And they're NOT being created in haste and in poor quality. What's wrong with you? :teub: Nadeo's pouring ALL of their resources into making Maniaplanet; I don't know what you want. Oh, wait, yes I do. Stadium 2. Or a United clone. Well, sorry, that's not going to happen. Do you know why they were able to turn out United as fast as they were? Because United was simply a compilation of previous TM titles. Nothing new. THIS is new. 100% new. Of course it's going to take longer. And, with all the backlash they've been receiving about Canyon, you can be damn sure that they're going to test, test, and re-test Valley, Storm, and QM1 to make sure it lives up to YOUR expectation before release.

I expected more, as they promised more. Yet they've scrapped many things and delayed even more.
It's why I get bored as a non-regular player.

To Trackmaniack:
You really Amaze me! :D
Your 200% concentrate of positivism that you spraying on all NADEO's movements or non-movements, looks VERY strange. Such feeling that you are some robot or a script or you scared something. Your posts on this subject are exact clones of each other. You are totally deny all the problems of community.
Looks so, as if in the world of your dream, peoples who have opinion different from yours aren't capable to exist, all of them or beaten :teub: to the death or aren't born at all.
I can precisely tell that if i will agree in everything with my wife or my friends, our relations will end in short period.
I consider that it is necessary to share the impressions in independence from how they positive or negative, after all exactly thanks to such communications it is possible to define a right direction for the following step.
I like NADEO and their creations, but to hint at that they are angels descended from heavens to set an example for terrestrial game developers how to work without mistakes...
it is too ....... (by terrestrials measurements)
I didn't want to stop you from your manner of posting or something like that.
I simply wanted to say that.
Sorry for off-top.
Peace.

I understand. And I won't try to justify my actions. However, given the circumstances, I feel I am within bounds to be a little frustrated. When Nadeo has churned nothing but VERY high quality games out in the past 7 years, it stands to reason that they're going to continue to do so. The reason features were delayed or removed in Canyon was not simply because Nadeo/ubi want to screw with us, it's because the features were not finished yet. And again, in my previous post, they're certainly not going to release unfinished, buggy features now and have hell to pay with the backlash. They're going to finish things one envi at a time. And with each update, the bugfixes are recursive, they've already said as much. So, when SM gets released, there are going to be updates applied to Canyon. With MP 2.0, same deal. With Valley. QM1. You get the idea. So, when this project is finished, everything will be perfect. I think, instead of lamenting the bugs that are in Canyon right now, we should be excited to be in on the ground floor of Nadeo's latest project. Because, instead of many developers (EA, Microsoft, Activision <_<), Nadeo is asking us, recruiting forum and game members, and showing us their work BEFORE it's finished. This way we can be directly involved in the game's creation process, and we'll have a hand in the final outcome. As for the bugs that -are- in the game, they were "left in" because they are not game-breaking. They cleared 99% of -those- kind of bugs in the beta, and simply ran out of time to finish the rest.

Gee wizz a lot has been said here.. think it will take Nadeo a week to read through of this during their lunch times :roflol:

But to sum up my feelings... well lots has happened in the last 100 days for me (make it happen if it doesn't, nothing will stop you). And I'm confident a lot more will happen soon.

@eyebo - good post, although you should have maybe considered writing a book :roflol: just joking...

I clearly don't understand how people can be so negative and call the game sh*te and still read the forums and have the audacity to post negative comments here.
a) I'm negative and call the game shite because that is my opinion , simple as that (but an explanation, if you want one...the driving style is awful, take Stadium and Coast, probably the two most varied environments, in many Stadium maps, you must drift precisely to get a good time...a hard skill to master, in Coast, you need straight line braking and then acceleration through and out of the corner...Canyon doesn't even fall anywhere between those two stools, the car has been described elsewhere as a boat, on this I agree, truly awful handling...hundreds of my maps have been played online over the last number of years and some people even think I made some decent ones, the Canyon editor is, yes, SHITE!, the lack of diversity of blocks is appalling)

b)I still read the forums because I find the ongoing pointless arguments amusing and yes maybe I do have a weird of humour...

c)"the audacity to post negative comments here", eh, I bought a product, I find it crap, therefore, as a consumer I feel perfectly entitled to express my negative opinions re said product.
