Re: What has been changed in last 100 days?
hey hey people i didnt want to start a flame, i just wanted to know what changed during my pause
. Trackmania 2 is definitely a great racing game. Yes there are few things that are really pissing me off but i am willing to wait. That doesnt change that this is best racing game ever along with their predecessors. Some of u are arguing about driving model and style. I dont know why, but whats wrong with it, it is something that you can master, just look at the best players they are always amongst first almost in every map, thats the proof that you can learn it regardless of how it was in TMNU. Maybe you are expecting that you switch from TMNU and u will be the best here but thats not going to happen without hours of new practice. As i said there are few things that are really pissing me off, i hope they will be changed in near future.

Well, to be honest I love Canyon as thé best envi ever to this point BUT!eyebo wrote: I think lately some people are too impatient and want a quick fix rather than digging deeper into what is already offered.... But it definitely seems like people could stand to step back and analyze how important it is to them that some feature is added. I mean, how important is it really?....
As a trackbuilder and a piano player I just want to say about the missing blocks, not having banked cp's for example is like missing the black keys on the piano. Without those, there arn't too much possibilyties left to create a song. Every note/chord has been used allready.....
It's getting harder but i willeyebo wrote: Above all... Stay involved. Stay positive.

In fact, you couldn't be more wrong.Makc86 wrote:Poorly understood the meaning of this phrase (difficulty with English).I doubt they've ever been so busy.![]()
Do you mean that they are not inactive, and create a ShootMania? I understand that, but I do not need a ShootMania. What do they do it for TM? In fact, nothing doing.

They're working harder than ever on Valley, and what do you think all of those updates were that they released every month for the past 5 or 6? Cosmetics? Come on. And what about Maniaplanet 2.0? That's going to have so many fixes and changes it's going to be unreal.

Hmm...then why don't you go play NFS underground instead of whining here? Seriously. I don't understand why people who don't like the game even are here. That's like going to McDonalds, seeing the menu, ordering a cheeseburger, and saying, "But I didn't know it had cheese on it! I don't want it if it's got cheese on it!" (I've seen people who do this) This is a forum for people to -discuss- the game, not to simply bash it endlessly. And don't give me the tired old adage "Well, I'm a consumer! I -paid- for this product! I have a right to express my opinion!" You do. And you have. But you don't have a right to continually whinge, hoping that the louder you complain, the more likely it is that Nadeo's going to do something about it. That's a child's logic.

So we, (those of us who bought the game and think it's a pile of shite), according to you anyhow, don't have the right to continually whinge about it?, yet you (and all the other sycophants) do have the right to continually post about how great Nadeo and Canyon are?Trackmaniack wrote:And don't give me the tired old adage "Well, I'm a consumer! Re: What has been changed in last 100 days?
Just a word about the social stuff in the game. It's my understanding that most of the social stuff (ManiaHome, etc) is developed by Nadeo Live, a separate development studio. The core mechanics of the game and the deeply integrated features like the editor and mediatracker is what is developed and managed by Nadeo. So it's different engineers working on those things.

C'mon guys. Please stop the flaming.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Everyone wants different things out of the game. Some are content with what's already done. Some want more, and aren't satisfied with the speed that things are happening.
So what? It's not hurting anyone but themselves if they choose not to play or choose to express their honest, but negative, opinions about the game. Let it roll off your shoulders.
I had to learn months ago not to let every negative comment about Canyon bother me. There's surely quite a few, right?
Getting defensive about the game doesn't really do anyone any good, especially when it's well known there are some fairly major flaws (some being a lack of core features found in TM United).
Of course the game is still a lot of fun. And that's why I personally overlook its flaws for now. I played on a ladder server tonight for over four hours and had a lot of fun (over 3000 LP, woohoo!). I wouldn't have done that if I didn't like the game.
I think people exaggerate the problems with the physics because they haven't taken the time to learn how to drive properly... or just have trouble with figuring it out even if they have taken the time.
For instance, people complain about the way the car jerks back in the opposite direction after a drift. Well if you stop steering just prior to the point where the car exits the drift... and let the car end the drift naturally, then it won't do that. But that's only something you get by playing a lot and learning all the little tricks. That's nothing new to Canyon. Every environment has had "tricks" to learning how to drive better.
Some in this topic have said the game feels like a boat. It must be a speedboat.
People do race boats though. That's not exactly a negative thing. In another topic here on the forums, someone else likened TM to surfing, and it's one of the reasons they love it.
You know I was with you during the beta and after the release... defending Nadeo at every turn. I'm sure you could dig up some of my replies around this forum to prove that.
My wake-up call was when someone asked if I worked for Nadeo, because I appeared to be biased beyond all reason.
I mean, don't get me wrong. Working at Nadeo would be awesome. But I don't work for them. I'm just a guy out here in the community who enjoys the game a lot. I respect what Nadeo has accomplished so far, but I also acknowledge that they are fallible (indeed they've even acknowledged that themselves in not so many words). They can't do everything perfect or always get things done on the timetable that people want (or even they'd like to themselves). They work the hours that are given to them and make steady progress towards a result. I mean, Canyon did get released after all. They had some part in making that happen. We all know they have a keen interest in making the game the best they can make it. Well, I'm sure you'd agree with all that.
But trying to reply to every negative comment and telling people off isn't really the way to win someone back and get them to play the game again... if that's your goal. If that's not your goal, then maybe you should think about what is your goal when writing replies on the forums... and whether that goal is really worth it.
I don't think people should be stomped on for expressing legitimate concerns about the progress of ManiaPlanet, or their lack of interest in SM and their wish that more focus was put into TM instead. Just because someone's concerns aren't likely to be addressed doesn't mean they should feel threatened to comment about those concerns.
I think you're not alone though. We all tend to defend the thing we love and minimize any imperfections or problems with it. Some call it fanboyism. I guess in relationships it's called infatuation.
Hopefully we can all seek to be more reasonable, as long as it's done in a constructive and positive way.

Trackmaniack, I'm going to pick on you now.alonsega wrote:...ok I think even categorizing TM as a racer is a mistake, I dont like racing games, and yet im a total addict of TM cause im a surfer, and the game that most gives me the sensation of surfing, even more so than surfing games is - TM!!!! so I think TM is NOT a racing game, its a genre on its own...

Words of wisdom. It indeed might be the time to stop jumping at the throat of each other. Thanks eyebo.

Re: What has been changed in last 100 days?
Personally I don't care if someone else thinks if the game is great or bad. We all have a differant meaning.
I also don't compare canyon with united, it's just differant.
BUT, when I bought canyon I did that with the knowledge that every 3 months something new will come.
I was really thrilled about that idea but now I think complety differant.
My oppinion is that it just takes to long and I am not going to wait for it anymore. Life is to short to waste time.
I have read that people are saying, better to wait then a BS game with bugs and stuff.
True and not.Jjust don't say as a developer that you bring out a new game every 3 months.
I have learned in my life(41) that when you make a promisse you have to do it.
Now it seems that once a year a new game or environment will come.

Who cares?PapyChampy wrote:Words of wisdom.
it fix bugs? it can return all my friends into game? it can revive my favorite servers?
If Nadeo have no plans or time to feed TM community expectations , then will be nice to release TM2 SDK, to let us freedom to feed us ourselves, and then continue to their MP 2, 3 ,4... SM ..QM... and other things what TM community not ask and not care. I think that we can find several strong modding teams (in TM community) that really can gives a lot to the community.
I think it is harder to imagine more Constructive proposal.
Did you know how Team Fortress starts? it is a mod for Quake 1 maded by 3 guys.
