Would like to exchange TM2 for TM1

Post by alan_ch »

I purchased TM2 Canyon last year, but I'm unhappy with the game. Is it possible to exchange it for TM1? I never purchased TM1 before, I used to play it with joy until "Free"zone was introduced. I feel like I should get free access to TM1, simply because I purchased TM2, but TM2 is so bad really and I don't mind loosing access to to TM2.

Simple answer : no, you can't.

Could you describe why it is a "bad" (big brackets) in your opinion ? Gameplay, atmosphere, content ?

I read it properly. just from your last sentence I understood it like you have rights to get older version (in exchange, yes, I got it) because you don't like the current one. the reality is, you want to get a game (in exchange) because you don't like another game. doesn't make sense, right?

Well if someone here has an extra copy of TMUF lying around and doesn't have a Canyon key yet, then yes it would be theoretically possible to set up a trade. But I don't know if that person exists or who they are. And of course you want to be careful not to get scammed -- that particular risk is so high with something like this I would say it's not even worth it, you'd be better off looking for the trade in real life where you can actually see that the other guy is telling the truth.
If you're talking about going through the company, then PapyChampy is right -- generally this sort of thing isn't supported in the devs' system. No matter how much sense it makes especially when the games cost the same.

And you may want to be more polite to the people who are trying to give you good advice and generally help you. You'll go a lot farther in life that way (not to mention getting tech support much quicker).

I was ready to offer to send you TM1 as I have an unplayed copy here, but tbh, you let yourself down with the "Are you blind" statement. Did you need to resort to rudeness? - Oh and that's more a statement than question.. feel free to resist the urge to reply, as I doubt you will manage it without being offensive.

I got upset because Omnixor (in his own words) "lolled"(laughed) at my genuine question. I never expected to get TM1 for free WHILE KEEPING TM2 and I clearly wrote that in my first post. I simply would like to exchange it because I am disappointed with TM2. What do the producers of Trackmania have to loose, if I play TM1 instead of TM2? I did not have a chance to try out TM2 before I bought it. The way it was advertised and like everyone I was expecting it would be a great game, I had no doubt in my mind, it would be great. But as to many other people, it has been a disappointment to me.

Well for one thing the devs have to loose, is 5 dollars. Because TM1 does cost 5 dollars more than TM2, last time I checked. (Just for the record my previous remark about games costing the same was hypothetical, it may not have come off that way).

Also, you may not have written that as clearly as you think. I was confused too, and by the end of the post it seemed contradictory. Even in this situation though, it's a good idea to keep your shirt on, manners-wise (so to speak). It really does make you look better than the people who lose their head ;).
The same goes for Skyway, your accusation was also less than polite. And yes that does matter. Very much. Possibly even more than the behaviour of the original person.
