I'm trying to make a custom paint on my car, but after I save it and exit out of the painter, it's only a dull black car with no details on it. When I download cars though the show them correctly, but even if I was to bring that custom car into paint mode, not change a thing and save, it would still come out dull black.
I've tried re-installing but that didn't help, any other ideas?

Did you use the button "save your work as" to save your car? This is the second "save" button with the "+".

Yeah I tried saving the work as..., then just quitting, and tried saving the work as..., hit the regular save, then quit, but each time I get the same result.
Re: Problem in Car Paint (Not Saving correctly)
1, never open and save cars made outside the painter ingame. This will downgrade the quality back to 1024*1024.
2, the dull black is probably created by a poor graphics card or poor graphics settings ingame.

Don't try to edit packed skins.

I'm starting to the former is the problem, I tried all graphic settings (my default is Nice preset), but it's still black, I have an Intel HD 3000 as my GPU so maybe that's it.zarexz wrote:2, the dull black is probably created by a poor graphics card or poor graphics settings ingame.
I don't do it to add more detail to it, I'm was just seeing if the same thing would happen.Chevron wrote:Don't try to edit packed skins.

I think it's still a bug.zarexz wrote: 2, the dull black is probably created by a poor graphics card or poor graphics settings ingame.

This would happen to me in TMUF if I ever minimized the game while the painter was open.

Allright, I did some further testing and it turns out it has to be a bug. Each and every car made outside the painter ends up black or partialy black when opened in the painter regardless of your graphics settings or graphics card.Alter-Fox wrote:I think it's still a bug.zarexz wrote: 2, the dull black is probably created by a poor graphics card or poor graphics settings ingame.Because it's still not supposed to do that.

Need more testing. To be continued...
Re: Problem in Car Paint (Not Saving correctly)
Oke, after some more testing I've found out that when you set the "Texture quality" to "High" the car isn't black anymore when loading it into the painter. Atleast, this is how it works on my ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series system.
The fact remains that when you save a car from the painter it's resolution gets downgraded to 1024*1024...
