different blocks, different car physics, different environment. if your friends think that's a reskin, they don't know much about TM.

This is a game that was created as demonstration for the possibilities with ManiaScript.

This is hugely awesome. Faster and tighter than Canyon--that's pretty awesome. :)

I don't think Valley is faster than Canyon, I think it's just have more acceleration, or maybe because the roads are smaller and have lot's of trees around it

BTW I love the skidding sounds on Valley :)

It's not an "addon". That implies you need to get Canyon in order to play it.
Valley will be completely standalone, in that it can be purchased by itself without requiring anything else.
FrivolousSam wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong, but what we've seen so far implies it is nothing more then an environment reskin, akin to the ones you can get for free on modding sites. Maybe a couple new block types to go with it.
It's not a mod or a reskin. It's an entirely new environment.

Every environment has its own diverse set of blocks that are unique to that specific environment. And every environment has its own physics. The blocks and physics come together as two important elements that create unique gameplay in every TrackMania environment. In TrackMania 2, each environment is sold as its own standalone title within ManiaPlanet.

Below I've listed all the environments that have been released so far and the games that they've come with. Some of the games are free expansion packs for previous versions, but they also sometimes brought additional blocks to each environment.

All of the example videos I've linked below are from the PC games.

Desert (aka Speed) - Found in TrackMania (PC) (2003), TrackMania PowerUp (PC) (2004), TrackMania Original (PC) (2005), TrackMania United (PC) (2006), TrackMania United Forever (PC) (2008), TrackMania DS (DS) (2008), TrackMania: Build To Race (Wii) (2010)
- Example video showing Desert

Snow (aka Alpine) - Found in TrackMania (PC) (2003), TrackMania PowerUp (PC) (2004), TrackMania Original (PC) (2005), TrackMania United (PC) (2006), TrackMania United Forever (PC) (2008), TrackMania: Build To Race (Wii) (2010) TrackMania Turbo (DS) (2011)
- Example video showing Snow

Rally (aka Countryside) - Found in TrackMania (PC) (2003), TrackMania PowerUp (PC) (2004), TrackMania Original (PC) (2005), TrackMania United (PC) (2006), TrackMania United Forever (PC) (2008), TrackMania DS (DS) (2008), TrackMania: Build To Race (Wii) (2010)
- Example video showing Rally

Coast - Found in TrackMania Sunrise (PC) (2005), TrackMania Sunrise eXtreme (PC) (2005), TrackMania United (PC) (2006), TrackMania United Forever (PC) (2008), TrackMania: Build To Race (Wii) (2010), TrackMania Turbo (DS) (2011)
- Example video showing Coast

Bay - Found in TrackMania Sunrise (PC) (2005), TrackMania Sunrise eXtreme (PC) (2005), TrackMania United (PC) (2006), TrackMania United Forever (PC) (2008)
- Example video showing Bay

Island - Found in TrackMania Sunrise (PC) (2005), TrackMania Sunrise eXtreme (PC) (2005), TrackMania United (PC) (2006), TrackMania United Forever (PC) (2008), TrackMania: Build To Race (Wii) (2010), TrackMania Turbo (DS) (2011)
- Example video showing Island

Stadium - Found in TrackMania Nations ESWC (PC) (2006), TrackMania United (PC) (2006), TrackMania United Forever (PC) (2008), TrackMania Nations Forever (PC) (2008), TrackMania DS (DS) (2008), TrackMania: Build To Race (Wii) (2010), TrackMania Turbo (DS) (2011), TrackMania 2 Stadium (PC) (2013)
- Example video showing Stadium

Canyon - Found in TrackMania 2 Canyon (PC) (2011)
- Example video showing Canyon

Storm - Found in ShootMania Storm (PC) (2012/2013)
- example video showing Storm

Valley - Found in TrackMania 2 Valley (PC) (2013)
- example video showing Valley + see also the Valley trailer

Did you watch the videos? Do you see how each environment is distinctly its own? I'm sure you did.

But if you didn't. Perhaps in order to really get a feel for that, you need to drive and build in TrackMania United Forever's 7 environments and compare them to each other and to TrackMania 2 Canyon. They're more than just mods or reskins of each other. They are each distinctly their own.

Likewise, TrackMania 2 Valley will also be distinctly its own.

And I'm sure it will be worth whatever it costs. Though if Canyon and Storm are any indication, then Valley is likely to be priced very reasonably. I'm expecting to pay somewhere around $20 USD for it.
