I've just turned off AA completely. For me, FXAA are total waste of processing power, while MSAA is best solution (no big impact, yet big difference in graphics).
While "it's fine" (personally) to play without AA, it would be much nicer with.
I don't think TM 2 engine differs much from TMF engine, it is a same engine, but improved in critical parts. If anything, compared to TMF, TM2S push better frame rate with better graphics, and i think that was their final goal. Most of the performance boost come from moving away from CPU calculations, and changing GPU/CPU sync to 1 (at default) opposed to 0 (default in TMF). This is especially important for multi-core processors with lower "per core" performance, since TM engine don't use multithreading very well.
End result is, game is more suited for this time and future.
At "fast", and "very fast" shader settings MSAA is available.
