I am curious to see how the font importer will be used.

Also, thanks for the great job and please continue releasing updates as often as nowadays :D

Don't know why, I found ManiaPlanet 40x longer to finish the first loading when the window is visible. :?

EDIT And i have an idea: what do you think about placing the Ubisoft and ManiaPlanet logos video while loading? A lot of games are making that using more threads (a background worker for those that don't know what it is).

I hope for this release to be the last before some time. I know it's better to have regular updates for some reasons, but it's also difficult: competitions, creations and servers have to adapt while we have to check and update many things on our side. Since MP3 we had many versions, but I look to go toward a deeper phase of dev soon, to come back with big things. I believe that there is still plenty of cool things to see with what has been delivered and custom abilities.

This is why I opened the wishlist thread by saying that we should focus on what we have instead of what we wait. Even if we continue to work at the same speed of course (after some holidays I must admit) It's also a way to bring even more players by releasing big things. Now that the Maniaplanet platform is quite more mature, I think we will move even faster.

I saw that link today, and even if it's a smooth first step, it could become an increasing one over time. We will see.

I would like, bet and feel good to see a close beta start between ESWC and GA, with a different install, but I can't predict at the moment. And thanks for your understanding. Meanwhile, I think we should focus in a continuous way on support: to explain/help to modify modes, use action makers, support players that try to do things in doing it. It's not about a new version here, but help on the current one.

I can totally understand why you're slowing down with updates and want to prepare "big" things a bit better/longer to improve updates with new content.

But I have to say that there are two different types of Updates: Updates that contain new content and features and the other type: updates with bugfixes only (maybe similar to the ones you call hotfixes).
Updates with new content and are good to come on slower steps.
Whereas updates with bugfixes should be pushed very regularly!
In the ideal situation there should be one update every week containing bugfixes only (NO features). Even if it's just one bug that's being fixed, it is way better than waiting a few months to fix bugs. Bugs are annoying for all players and the earlier those bugs are fixed, the happier the players will be.
Regular bugfixes also underline how active you work on the game ;)
Additionally, little updates with bugfixes should have no impact on tournaments or cups, as those are not based on bugs, rather are some of the cups prevented from being held by bugs (e.g. bugs in the cupmode)

So I ask for bugfixes in the current update speed and content updates every few months or whatever pace necessary. Think about it :thx:
A nice person is a better person!
Did you participate in a Monthly Track Contest yet?

You are totally right about this division of elements. Even with 15 years of experience in managing this, I find it hard to know what is the best solution. Atm, we do it like big release, and then a lot of fixes, instead of what you suggest. Would we have automatic server updates and silent download of updates and less esport competitions around, I think it would also be less of a trouble to make a weekly update. Anyway, we intend to do one for WebM and maybe another topic in September. And each release is the occasion to try to fix the most annoying issues. We will see.
