Haha beta and WHQL are the same, the only differents is that WHQL are signed by microsoft.

That is now around 10 years back that ATI had that problems, now it is amd and the last 7 years i hadn't driver related issues.

did you clean the cache?
do you have too many items/objects, perhaps also with too big textures?

It's hard to know what cause that for sure. I have seen such issues a few times, and unfortunately for you, they were always hardware faults. High-end consumer-grade GPUs (the x60 and x80 series for NVidia for example) are often pushed to their limits, and I have seen multiple ones die after 3 to 5 years of (intensive) usage.

At work for example, we have a box full of dead cards... :(
