I have a question ;) It´s a little bit off topic but i´m interesting in this. Do you know if you can play TestDrive Unlimited 2 (online) in Belgium. Because the Multiplayer is completely based on p2p.

regards, Jojo

No Nat connection verry low , red condition , have to use a trick , to have a green status at start up

I think it is also due to perhaps a bad DSL connection, where both download and upload bandwith are low.

Therfore I suggest the following improvement:
1) low and high quality (custom) contents, especially for skins and models
a. models and skins should have a low-res and a high-res version
b. Maniaplanet would detect the available bandwith and automatically select the low or high detail version
for both downdload of foreign skins and upload of the own skin,
unless the user specifies the one or the other as constant configuration
2) servers could host models & skins and perhaps also mods based on player session duration
a. a player connects, his skin is uploaded into the server cache
b. other player connect, and the skins of all already connected players are downloaded from the game server
3) skins and models should always use ManiaLink
3.1 the Maniaplanet player page should have a storage
for a skin and perhaps for a custom model per game (TM/SM/QM)
which the player would configure either by direct upload
or
3.2 by providing a separate ManiaLink so the maniaplanet server gets the files
from the player's real location

Of course this would not reduce that much the downloads to the player's machine,
but it would considerably reduce the P2P uploads, especially with low bandwith,
and for those who still absolutely want P2P enabled

One other remark about TDU 2 , all problems started here in September , but 2monds before players started to skin there cars in Textmode design , and at that moment more problems again
I do not play it anymore , because of all the lag problems .....
Also on TMU problems , its really bad P2P
Om TM2 no problems at start , with standard cars , and the use of the paint prg inside the game
But now with the new cars that you can download en repaint like you want with the use of DXTbmp and a paintprograme , problems started it

You really do not understand it , P2P connection is recently named ash a illegal download system , Here in Belgium Every provider as a system to block it and to limit it , So how to upgrade my connection , go to one other country ?
When I'm the only one in Belgium with this problem , OK i have to do something , but all my friends have the same problems on TM2 and we are all Old TMU drivers for many years , changed over to TM2
I'm really unknown how it's going in Belgium, but I live in the Netherlands where P2P is totally legal etc. Aren't such decisions made within the EU?
As far as I know SOPA etc. isn't active as well (yet).
Ik denk dat je vergist ook in uw land worden proefen gedaan om het P2p verkeer te limieteren , dacht op Tweakers.net er ergens een artikel staat over het recente onderzoek in belgie en Nederland .....zoek maar is op .......
