Hello .......
The tittle say all
Whats the use of the P2P connection in multi player game
I think Nadeo is the only one witch use It for a game
One of the most important reason to stop it , Providers start to slow down all P2P connection systems
Based on a recent investigation in Belgium and The Netherlands , all providers running software to stop - limit - and slow down P2P applications
And i suppose in the future more and more providers will do the same , maybe the do it already in your country but you do not know it
After asking to some friends in my country , we all have problems when we drive with upload and download active (so P2P on)
I also remarked during the Holiday period the problems where higher than on a normal day
No , Nadeo, stop it , find one other solution to download the Skins - avatars - music from all player in multi player
Yes you can drive without to put it on , and yes you can put player view off , and .....and .......
But you payed for a game , but you have to limit it to keep it running in a good condition ??
The best way to find one other solution
Or the easy way , Only the standard cars , standard avatars , Its up to you Nadeo and Ubisoft
Time to stop P2P connection system it only brings problems

Re: Time to stop P2P connection system it only brings probl
Players need to use the locator system the problem is finished^^.
I don't think it's not possible to use an other system.

Well, if i make my own skin and you want to see it, you have to download it from my PC.
Only other option would be to force everybody to upload their stuff somewhere.
IMO there's no performance impact on the game itself when downloading other players cars.
If your traffic is limited, it should simply take longer to load them.

Lolno. Almost everyone can run it fully. Upgrade your connection if it's required. Same for your graphics card, if you do not want to limit graphics, upgrade it.bel1be wrote: But you payed for a game , but you have to limit it to keep it running in a good condition ??

You really do not understand it , P2P connection is recently named ash a illegal download system , Here in Belgium Every provider as a system to block it and to limit it , So how to upgrade my connection , go to one other country ?
When I'm the only one in Belgium with this problem , OK i have to do something , but all my friends have the same problems on TM2 and we are all Old TMU drivers for many years , changed over to TM2

When i talk about limit it , i mean you drive without upload download , and you drive against all White-Gray cars
I play only round mode , and everybody is skinned or use the new Cars from Maniapark
Nice game play i call this

I'm really unknown how it's going in Belgium, but I live in the Netherlands where P2P is totally legal etc. Aren't such decisions made within the EU?bel1be wrote: Lolno. I'll talk as a person, not as the Nadeo Community Manager.
The issue with ISPs about P2P will stop soon, there is more and more companies which use P2P because it cost less money for them (especially for companies/website with a large audience) than pay the bandwith of the servers (or just because they couldn't handle the charge of their servers).
Moreover it's better for ISPs because they can balance the bandwith between the incoming bandwith and the outcoming one.
On the other hand, the "world" can't condemn a neutral technology cause of his possibly use. In videogame industry you have a very big dev/editor which use Bittorrent (on a hidden way) to send to their updates to players (they had troubles in the past because several ISPs had curbed the bandwith from their tracker but this has been solved pretty quickly).
With the files which become more and more larger, the download speed increased (from 56k to fiber optic today), the companies can't handle themselves the bandwith (for the biggest ones) and the easiest way to satisfy this need is to use Bittorrent.
For TrackMania, it's the easiest way to share datas between the players. If we hadn't use this technology, the players would have had the need to download the skins separately (and so to download all the skins available on the forums and/or on Maniapark for example), this would have be a lot less fun that way (and we would have never seen the most part of contents created by the players).

@bel1be
I have a question
It´s a little bit off topic but i´m interesting in this. Do you know if you can play TestDrive Unlimited 2 (online) in Belgium. Because the Multiplayer is completely based on p2p.
