A ShootMania Storm open beta is scheduled for the coming months..

The first preview of TM² Canyon (by PC Jeux) arrived in the end of April 2011, and the beta started on July, so maybe SM beta will start in May.

I don't know where Digital Spy has seen this information but there is no plan to make Storm a free-to-play.
