Nooooo :( Be more creative! Anyway, how can they be imported from Canyon? There weren't these moods in Canyon... :-?

as I have said elsewhere, there are seven moods here but that's because many are testing imports of moods Canyon to test the reactivity of materials. We aim for Storm 4 moods, like Canyon. Sorry for the false hope

That still doesn't answer why they're not putting these in? That doesn't make any sense...why have something that you're "testing the reactivity" of, and then not use? >_>

Why did they show a mix map editor for TM² in the canyon alpha at the E3 and didn't use it in the main game? I guess you get the point ^^

guys, just to make it a bit clearer.. (at least i think that's the reason for thorough reflectiontesting) They are testing the engine, not just this environment. The engine has to be able to withstand different moods on forthcoming environments and who knows, maybe even full blown modifications.

I dont know if this is news to you guys, since the article I read is from 2nd October but it seems that the ManiaPlanet.exe already contains variables (dunno what it is exactly) from SM and QM. Surprisingly there is also one called "BotAgressivity" for SM. You can check them all out right here. (it's german, but the variables are in english)

Speculations, It doesn't necessarily mean these triggers will be used
(doesn't even mean they still exist in the .exe as the extract was done during the multiplayer beta in august. All was extracted from ManiaPlanet.exe):

Anyways:

Quoted Arc_ on Mania Creative:

Code: Select all

2D008000 CSmPlayer
        2D00800D float BotAgressivity
        2D00800E int BotAgressivityDoublingTime
        2D00800F int BotPathOffset
        2D008010 float BotPathSpeedCoef
Ok, so we will have AI players.

Code: Select all

2D008015 enum AvailableAction { Jump, Run, Climb, Fly, GrapleRope, GrapleSpring, Crouch }
Grappling hooks!

Code: Select all

2D008021 bool IsCloaked
2D008022 bool IsStuck
2D008024 bool IsEvolving
2D008025 uint ModelEvolution
Cloaking - some sort of invisibility pickup a la UT? And what's with the evolution - progressive character upgrades during a deathmatch game?

Code: Select all

2D00C000 CSmArenaRules
        2D00C00F bool FeatureWallJump
        2D00C010 bool FeatureRocketJump
        2D00C011 bool FeatureDoubleJump
These don't really require any guessing.

---------

Further in the topic the RequestPlayerChangeGun string is also under speculation. (which is odd as there was talk about only 1 gun)

(entire article plus download of entire list here)

wow thanks blin. that stuff is pretty big. but just because its in ManiaPlanet.exe right now doesnt mean that is has to be in the release of SM. there is always hope for bots though, perhaps you could record paths like ghosts and then the game would have auto aim type things so the bots would walk along the path and shoot when they see an enemy.
