As for configuration, it appears to be exactly the same as in TMF, with the same in-game control options. I don't have FFB in my wheel, so I can't comment on that.
This is actually very disappointing. Some of us have steering wheels with a 900 degree rotation. Therefore when playing TM1/TMF/TMUF, the centering force is very loose and when turning there is not enough resistance in the wheel. It makes the steering of the car very loose because the game does not contain a "centering force" or "wheel weight" adjustment setting. I am
REALLY hoping one of the devs reads this and takes this into consideration.
I do not have a proper centering resistance setting in Windows 7 for my wheel, so without one in the actual game it's going to make it virtually unplayable
Nadeo *PLEASE* add the ability to set our desired centering force strength.

That's horribly disappointing news. At the very least I would hope they would allow for the gas/brake to be possible on separate axes. I say this because I have used a Microsoft Force Feedback steering wheel for the years I played TMN and TMU, but once I upgraded to Windows 7 I couldn't use the pedals anymore due to improper support of the wheel by Microsoft combined with the fact that Trackmania doesn't allow split axes for the gas and brake. If Trackmania 2 is the same way I will be disappointed.
I hope that it is at least slightly changed, because I'm definitely best at Trackmania with my wheel and pedals, and I don't want to adapt to a new method.

Out of curiosity which wheel will you be using other than your xbox wheel?

I'm not using an Xbox wheel. I'm using a Microsoft Force Feedback Wheel, that was made about 11-12 years ago, not related to an Xbox wheel. If it doesn't work I will either have to buy a gamepad or see if I can get my PS3 Logitech Driving Force Pro Wheel to work, although I don't think that will be desirable with its 900 degree rotation. Or I buy a new wheel, which I don't want to do when mine still works great.
Well, we'll wait and see, it won't be that long now before I can try it myself.

Ah I see thanks for the clarification. Your PS3 Logitech Driving Force Pro Wheel should work no problem. It should also have a way to allow you to reduce the degrees to anything you want. That way you can turn the car with very little turning radius.

Hm, i play TM with my XBox360 Pad (with alternate Drivers, than there is no Problem with throttle and brake), for me TM is not a Racing Game for Steering Wheels, so i don't play it with my Logitech DFP. ^^
But for all Logitech Wheels for PS2/PS3/PC (XBox360 Wheels are a little bit special): they all use the same Driver Package from Logitech, so if one Logitech Wheel is working, all of it works too.

I use a joystick for TMF and I can tell you, on some tracks/envis it isnt that comfortable (stadium tech tracks), and after watching hundreds of tm2 videos I assume that Canyon tech tracks will be as uncomfortable as Stadium tech tracks...I may be wrong though.
In TM2 Canyon, I will drive with keyboard, because there are (nearly?) no disadvantages in compared to pad drivers..but its your choice what fits to you
