We will be hosting this Friday, October 25th at 3PM ET / 8PM BST / 9PM CEST on our ShootManiaStorm Twitch.TV channel: http://www.twitch.tv/shootmaniastorm, come join us!

We will be taking questions from the forum threads and answer a few of them. We will not have time to get to all questions, but we will answer a few ones that we can.

We will be hosting more in the future, so if your question does not get answered this time around, perhaps it will at our next one!

Thank you for doing this, this has strong potential to put some faith back into the community based on the type and how questions are answered. I look forward to this, will there be a recording to check out later if some people miss it?

I am working on a Montage and just need to export it but H264 sucks and my other codecs won't even give me a proper output. :?

Love all your Games so far!

Cheers!
Hello (-:

The codec have to be used for the final render on the editing software that you are using. For example, I use Adobe Premiere and Xvid Codec mpeg 4...

When rendering replays, you have to render uncompressed so you have the highest quality.

Voila
I used uncompressed Rendering but it was REALLY laggy so I tried using codecs :? I will try again. BIG fan of your youtube channel by the way :3 :1010

I wasnt satisfied with the interview.
Maybe I was expecting too much and I might be a bit impatient... but dunno.

Will the mapeditor be improved? Yes , just like in the past we keep working on it in the future. ( = DUHHHHH )

The only not vague answer was about esports. " No we wont support another big event, but multiple small ones."

Dont invite a speaker that doesnt know anything. And if its not allowed to share anything then dont plan these interviews. Ive been getting my hopes up the entire week & now Im just dissapointed.

Many people asked about multi-environment servers... why wasn't that question chosen for the interview?! :)

With regards to ShootMania F2P; Ubisoft released a video at PAX Prime 2012, that said that Elite and Royal would be "Open to the Public at Launch"; meaning Free-To-Play.

That obviously didn't happen. Now the Elite "demo" seems to have taken its place, after the "invitation" concept went for a little while.

The "Open beta" was nice, but wasn't part of this "Open to the Public at Launch" concept mentioned in the video. It was originally planned to have Royal and Elite free-to-play and, I believe, the real reason why Elite and Royal were pulled out into their own title packs. (You'll remember that Royal was a script inside the ShootMania: Storm title back in the alpha days; and if I remember correctly, even during part of the original beta.)

So it is still good to ask if those two modes will ever be F2P. I'm wondering if this "Demo" concept is the closest we will see.

In order to develop a good game we need developers.
And like every working human being they need to get paid.
Free 2 play = no money.

I think thats why it isnt free & I respect that, but im not happy with the current situation either fng_thatoneguy.
I was expecting a lot with this Elite demo chizzle, but im afraid it wont be enough.

I dont think SM will be free any time soon ( due to above reasons ), but I hope we find some sort of solution that will make everybody happy.

Stuff like :
- Prize reduction
- Allowing items ( better maps )
- Multienvironemnt
- Promoting titles better
- Achievement ( make playing feel rewarding )

are essential to make this game succeed. And then maybe in a yeah or 2 we could make it free when Devs start working on other stuff.

My 2cents. Good night.

Free to play meaning free2play-model, It doesn't necessarily mean that the game is completely free. Many free2play games out today have many small cosmetic purchase options and subscriptions to give you additional access to the games features but It does not entirely mean you can't play the game for free. Those small cosmetic purchases boom like hell because not only does it give an option for players who enjoy your game to pay back what they feel the developer would deserve but those players get to show off some nice cosmetic stuff on their model.

For example, a game like Planetside 2 - It's free to play but I am willing to pay more than £40 to pay for buffs/cosmetic items as the developers put a lot of effort into the game.

ShootMania - I've spent £12 purchasing the game (early beta discount last year), there are no more purchasing options on the game apart from purchasing other game titles from NADEO, such as Trackmania. But I'm not that fussed about those games.

How much am I willing to pay for ShootMania cosmetic items if there where any? Well the more effort Nadeo put into developing the game and releasing updates, the more I am intrigued to invest more into the game. ShootMania means so much to me to the extent of making new friends, giving me opportunity to gain experience in the Esports industry (Livecasting, tournament admin etc.) ShootMania is the game that got me to go to LAN and meet fellow gamers, it's also the game that I actually took seriously in the competitive aspect because I felt I had a really good chance to become pro at a single game, start a community and help populate the game especially when it relies on community-based marketing (word of mouth/Play this game because we are all playing it).

I support free to play model and I do believe it will help ShootMania in drastic ways.

Anyway Off-topic so please don't continue
