When blockmixing etc. is enabled, then of course no restriction should apply.

I'm wondering "where" i was thinking TMT would be much better too, specially now that you said they will use the same engine and fear it won't have any environment mixingTMarc wrote:I'm wondering where you think TMT will be that much better since it is based on the same engine.disposableaccount wrote:nothing but excuses, the posts above said everything so i won't even bother.
Yes Nadeo is to blame, not allowing environment mixing never made sense in any trackmania.TGYoshi wrote:Nando isn't to blame there, but disallowing some combinations makes no sense to prevent that from happening as it's unavoidable
We know well that Nadeo does not tell much. There will certainly be some improvements to the current engine, which we will hopefully also see with Maniaplanet version 4.disposableaccount wrote:I'm wondering "where" i was thinking TMT would be much better too, specially now that you said they will use the same engine and fear it won't have any environment mixingTMarc wrote:I'm wondering where you think TMT will be that much better since it is based on the same engine.disposableaccount wrote:nothing but excuses, the posts above said everything so i won't even bother.
You are distorting completely what Nadeo did. At first, there was no environment mix at all. Only Speed / Desert in the first demo, later also Snow and Rallye.disposableaccount wrote:Yes Nadeo is to blame, disallowing environment mixing never made sense in any trackmania.
that's sound even more patronizing and insulting, like nadeo underestimates it's players and treats them like children, do i need to remind you it's a game with a track builder where the fate is in the hands of the community? it's like adsun said, maps will be trash if it's built in a trashy way, with mixing or notDemented wrote:I can understand Nadeo wanting to be cautious in what they allow in the official game and what they don't. I mean, after all they don't want it to turn into a big cluster fluster.
i know adding a line of code can mess up the game in unexpected ways, and from what i understand from reading devs talking about their games and MMOs being updated it's pretty normal to happen. i tried mixing with stadium a long time ago and still not possible today, if there were any plans to fix this issue then they would have done it alreadyDemented wrote:@ disposableaccount:
Are you ignorant or just an ass? It seems like you're not really even grasping what I'm saying before you respond in a demeaning way. Even when I agree with you it seems you want to reject it. What the hell?
Writing software is not as cut and dry simple as you seem to think it is. Quite often what seems like it should be a simple thing to incorporate in a program can cause a "Butterfly Effect" that ripples throughout the software and causes everything else to become a mess. I want to see multi environment mixing too, but I trust that if NADEO has opted not to do it yet they have a good reason. I doubt they have chosen to hold off on mixing Canyon and Valley in Stadium because they don't think the players can use it correctly. It's more likely they are holding off for some reason we don't know about or that is beyond their control at this time.
It would be nice to hear from them their reasons and plans.
