We cannot expect TM2 to reached immediately 10 million people like Nations :) But I think (I don't know) that, for now, TM2 got many more players than TrackMania 1 (I mean the really first game released in 2003). And we should remember that this is not only TM2, but also ManiaPlanet, that will improve through next years. So, for all who is complaining about missing features like block import and other modes, it's only question of time :pop: . Surely we expected more from this game (why the menu are the same of Forever? Why the car painter wasn't improved? Why we cannot yet edit the blocks?).
Also, I think that many potential players don't buy the game simply because they want to test it first, with a demo (yes, again this annoying matter  ): you can watch thousands of TM2's videos but only when you play it, you will discover if you like it or not. For example, why not release the game with only the track editor (and limited blocks) like a demo? So anyone can try it.
A finally note (off-topic): if you are already tired about TM2, and want to play a similar game but with many much modes, why don't try Crashday? I bought it in 2006 (for only 20 €, just like TM2) and is a great game: it got a track editor, many modes (Stunts, Wrecking, Race, Keep the Flag, Explosive Race, Pass the Bomb & Free Ride), destroyable cars and tracks (also cars got guns :pil ), tuning and much more! The bad things are an imperfect graphic engine, a bad physical engine and also terrible cars' sounds, but rocks! Hey, I'm not spamming :) , I'm just saying that Nadeo, in all these years from the release of TM Forever, could do more taking inspiration from other games like Crashday. And now TM2 would be a fantastic game :1010 !

Remember: this is just my opinion

Hey db, don't forget that Crashday is not TM.
If TrackMania would have an imperfect graphic engine, a bad physical engine, wrecking, explosive race, pass the bomb, free ride, tuning, destroyable cars, terrible car sounds, tuning and cars with guns, I wouldn't buy it. I'd buy TM, not Crashday. What you are saying is not related to TM. Inspiration doesn't mean to throw over the whole concept

You're right, but if TM2 got fully destroyable cars and (some) modes like Crashday, would be great, no?

No, I'll stay on TM2 :P Apart my off-topic  you have not read the rest of my post?

Firstly, I think the game is just starting too..

why ?

1) The community .. I think you are all great in what ever contribution it may be, track building, movies, mods, skins etc etc.

2) The potential, it's really endless and the sooner you take part or get involved the better.

3) Great team from Nadeo, open to discussions and not holding back to reply to queries :3

I will continue my quest to make TM2 well known in my country and around the world.

Zootie. :pil

I hope, that you'll take a bit more time for the shootmania beta, even though this has a later release date as consequence. I don't want it to happen like canyon, where the amount of bugs was a bit too high at release.
So take your time and create a good system ;)

Slightly on topic...

It's about the amount of building going on in Canyon.

Mania Exchange already has over 11,000 tracks posted since August 17. That's just over 4 months.

Contrast that with Original TMX which has only 25,000 tracks posted after 93 months. If you exclude the months since United has been released (since that inevitably took people away from the original game) then that's still 32 months that people built tracks for those original three environments and posted them on Original TMX.

I think it really helps to see how active Canyon is as a single environment and that ManiaPlanet as a whole is on track to be a very popular platform for creativity and fun, far surpassing the original.
