From the looks I highly doubt TMT is gonna be competitive in any way. Maniaplanet will be the place for competitions.
Think so too, as said, MP is for bigger community, turbo more for living room :pop: :pop: .

What was the point of MP in the first place then, if TMT will be the same thing, except more polished and ported to consoles, so basically - what trackmania2 should've been from the start. Instead they just released 3 separate MP environments as a kind of beta test for TMT that you had to spend ~50 dollars to buy(not counting the sales)

Now why don't we combine all those environments into one game, add some minor features and sell the game once again, yey

Uhm. Trackmania inside mp for pure competition and community central. And trackmania turbo is more like pure arcade game with friends, I definitely didn't want trackmania in mp to be arcade and not that community based as it is right now!

kinda wonder if the physics in stadium international and the valey flavour of TMT is going to be the same as in their maniaplanet counterparts, or is it going to be a bit more "arcadey" to make the random editor a viable tool to use ? I bought it already because I buy everything trackmania but it remains to be seen what audience is going to be attracted to it.

I don't see why on PC, tm turbo couldn't be for competition though, if it has the same underlying structures, rules, checkpoint validation , if it uses the trite and true tested dedicated server evolution. It's all a matter of which client Nadeo will use.

If we could have rollercoaster lagoon competitions where you ban to use certain pieces of road, it could be workable. I don't see a problem with the drop start functionality in stadium though, because everyone will start from the same point and it will just be a matter of knowing the track and know what maneuver to execute to manipulate your first impact with the road. We would have to test that to see if there's any exploit possible with that and then Nadeo can fix it. Or we can ban it in competition. Everything can be evaluated.

TM was already almost both, Turbo envis are pretty much the same as TM2 anyway.

So basically, you're happy that the community will be split in two or even more games, all because Nadeo labeled one of them "for fun", and other "for competition"?
There is not a single competitive game that uses separate clients or even games for "pros" and "for fun players", that is the worst idea ever, the game will never grow when there's only "pros" left (just look at TM2Stadium as a good example of that)

This are my words. Not directly from nadeo but what I read.
And I don't know if it really will split up. And don't know if it is a bad thing. Let's see. Maybe it will bring more to mp too. But let's see.

From what I read, Turbo is more intendent to be a game for occasionnal players.
You're a newbie and don't have time to map or mod properly ? Then Turbo is for you.
You're a veteran and you want to keep improving the game with the community ? Maniaplanet's the answer
Sounds simple, but whatever I'll buy both.
Maniaplanet's has never been the answer. It's been a problem for over 4 years now.
jui wrote:ugh standalone game for PC, i mean people already complaining about splitting the community with titlepacks and now comes a separated version of TM2 for PC, tbh i can not imagine that this turns out good for TM.
I mean ok if its only for consoles i would understand it.

Many players have invested work in maniaplanet and like it. And others want a standalone game yeah everybody gets what they want but also everybody loses players.

Not really happy about the direction :|
TM Turbo is what Nadeo should have released 4 years ago: 3 new environments + a new Stadium version. Instead who got 3 overpriced environments spread over 3 years.

People are complaining here because it's a standalone game. I'm happy that it is standalone. Maniaplanet has been a pain in the ... you know what. It's well explained here: http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2 ... -cast.html

Not everybody is rich... just go see how much TM:United cost on steam/uplay... for ~8 YEARS OLD GAME!!!

All 3 parts of TM2 are not cheap together and now we get TM:Turbo >.>
Pricing is reasonable IMHO: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=31193

Turbo is the real TM² guys. I hope this is the game that brings the community together.
