Ah, ok. Yeah just some tracks the camera will be like directly above your car in 3rd person, it's really weird.Omnixor wrote:if you get cam2 on loops (the one where you can see your car), it's because of maps convertion from older games which is not working properly, and maybe will be fixed. if you get cam3 (when there's no car), well, it's normal...
What a silly thing to say...there is always going to be a standard to adhere by, no matter how much freedom the infrastructure offers. By that logic, why isn't anyone fighting against map validation? I want the right to make, upload, and attempt to distribute maps that can't be completed. Wait, no, that's completely stupid and hurts the game. There has to be a line drawn somewhere. I think being able to see where you're going falls on the enforceable side of that. The niche of users that want to race entire maps while looking at the front end of their car be damned.Zooz wrote:That's ironic... This is actually a consequence of user-generated content. Users can generate their own camera angles. If they want to point the camera at the wall instead of at your car, they are free to do so, and you are free not to play that track.DandyJ wrote:Pretty serious flaw for a game that thrives on user-generated content.
Apparently most people prefer these cameras, since they appear on many tracks.
As far as my knowledge of trackbuilding goes, the standard is that, with loops and walls, you force the internal cam3.DandyJ wrote:...there is always going to be a standard to adhere by, no matter how much freedom the infrastructure offers.
I can confirm that. It's clearly the easiest way to handle loops/wallrides for around 95% of players.zarexz wrote:As far as my knowledge of trackbuilding goes, the standard is that, with loops and walls, you force the internal cam3.DandyJ wrote:...there is always going to be a standard to adhere by, no matter how much freedom the infrastructure offers.
I'm not defending Stadium at all. In fact, I hate it with passion. I wanted it to stay where it was, away from maniaplanet because I allready knew, hardcore players wouldn't like it anyway, nomatter what. I'm just trying to point out the tracks wern't build good enough. In my old TMNF tracks (yes there was a time i did like stadium and I build tracks for it) all the camchanges are perfect and behave as expected.Tomei wrote:If this annoying camera changes aren't fixed MANY people will choose not to play the game. I know (from past experience) people will defend Stadium 2 until their blue in the face
