The game shouldn't be designed like that, it isn't in general with tweaking/options, but unfortunately the minijump is a nice feature for gameplay that I wouldn't like to see removed either. If everyone could do it easier, it'd remove some of the risk with it also.
The problem with keeping the minijump as it is now is that it is an unfair advantage to certain people with certain hardware. And this game is 100% designed around giving as many people as possible the same conditions for playing.

Heck, the 3dot laser is frikking made like that to "limit the need to play in 2346236236z x 124124124 resolution".

So this should deffo be removed as well. And by removed I mean they should just raise the minimum jump height possible and problem solved.

*update*

No word on this Nadeo?

Isn't part of the idea to remove the need for a specific hardware part of the design of this game? (I'm referring to 3dot rule on laser for instance).

I would like to know now if you're gonna do something about this or wether I should invest in a new mouse right away. In advance, thx.

This how I, and most people I know do.
I do the exact same thing AND still can't do it...

Maybe it's the mouse (G500)?
Same here with G500. I can do really tiny jumps, but not regularly, and only standing still. Using the tiniest jump height for sprinting? Never works for me.

So yeah, I agree about raising minimum jump height you need for sprinting.

Apparently they don't care about this part of the game. The minimum height of the jump would totaly solve this tho ;)

+1

But i bet they read this thread. The solution , imo , is obvious.
Because right now the game is not fair due to limitations of ur hardware. ( Dont call it a skill, if ur hardware doesnt let you do the jumps. Its not skill. Its hardware. )
C'mon NADEO^^

Doubt you will get a nadeo response, they have a direction they want to take shootmania and won't alter it. There's long list of alterations that could have been made early in the beta versions, but they haven't taken them on board.

The macro / hardware jump is an issue that needs to be addressed, some people can execute mini jumps with out fail every time, while others can't. It's certainly a problem if only certain hardware devices can perform mini jumps every time you wish to do so and you certainly can't attach the "skill factor".

Either way a response from nadeo or hylis would be nice, otherwise you can add shootmania to list of games where developer stubbornness has killed the potential of where shootmania could go as an esport.

Well, I'm sure they've read this thread and are aware of it, and they might even be contemplating doing something about it.

The only problem is the uncertainty about it when they don't say anything. I fully understand they can't be replying to every post and every thread, they do after all have work to do, and simply reading these forums is probably taking up a lot of their time.

However, coming out and confirming/denying certain things, like this for instance, should be higher up on the prioritylist since we're talking about a core mechanic of the game that needs adressing.

And considering one of the arguments for 3dot rule on laser was to "take away need to play at superhigh resolutions" means they want to take away the need for specific hardware to get an even playingfield. And according to such designchoices, this issue also needs adressing.

So yeah, a reply to this topic would indeed be great :)

Let's just be real guys: OFC they don't have to read/reply to every post, just the important ones. Instead they seems to always reply to the most "stupid" threads, and not where it really matters.

As previously said in the thread, most of the forum is being read by the team.

Be also aware that if you do not see a reply, it's maybe that the Nadeo member that read the post may not be familiar with the exact problem at hands. However, it is usually reported to the right person.

Just be patient and wait for a proper reply of the devs.

We care about the game, and the goal is to make it better.

the code already exists btw. Its the same code behind the fulljump key.
So it should be easy to implement.

imo : THIS + the sound bug would be major improvements to the game.
But nadeo has confirmed that they are working on an update so just wait for that.
