Re: [Epic suggestion] Official times
The time limit is a huge pain in the arse, especially for the shorter tracks. For endurance tracks I have no problem with the time limit (besides the fact that I won't be officialling the longer tracks anyway lawl)
Re: [Epic suggestion] Official times
I reckon if people seriously want the timer removed, then offer an option.
in order to get another official race you must pay planets that is equal to the time left on the timer. 2 Seconds is 1 Planet. 30 Planets a minute.
1) You make your first official run
2) You practice to improve on an aspect of the track of which you weren't so good on during the official run.
3) the timer is at 3:00 and you want another official run
4) You click official race
5) the timer is at 3:00 so in order to race officially you need to pay
6) You Pay 90 Planets and race your second official run.
7) Repeat steps 2-6
If all you guys care about is the times for your official runs and not the coppers you gain from them by beating medals and such, i'm sure you wont mind paying planets. For all those who are patient enough and decide to practice on the track more till the timer runs out, well you've saved yourself some planets aint ya
. (I personally try to do the track in a different way from 5:00 to 3:00 in case there's something i've missed then perfect the strategy for the official run on 3:00 to Official race time.)

I think you have a great idea, metoxys.
I think it would be nice if planets were earned automatically after good runs. That would be more like TM Original and Sunrise, both of which had no separate "Official" mode needed to earn coppers, and no timer.
Planets should only be paid if one wanted to upload their best run as an official run.

Re: [Epic suggestion] Official times
Yeah, I could go for Solon's suggestion. I would add that the nag popup should be completely removed and replaced with a "go official" button. I don't play any of the tracks I got gold on any more because I hate the popup nag every few minutes to go official.
Re: [Epic suggestion] Official times
The timer needs to be a function of the tracks length. (judged by author time)
A short, 30 second track should only have a 2-3 min timer, while a longer 3 min track should be fine with a 5-6 min timer

Re: [Epic suggestion] Official times
Timer cant be based on track, becasue it is the same for all tracks. What I do is drive my training time on tracks for medals, and when its close to the official run I got to A tracks and do my official there

Re: [Epic suggestion] Official times
timer is good, maybe it is little annoying but provokes you to more and more practice. One thing i would suggest is that they can add one more official attempt so if you crash somewhere you had a second chance(better time would count) and then you would wait that 5mins.

Re: [Epic suggestion] Official times
I just say - planets influence - but Nadeo seems to be so smart to delete all things, which planets are useful for and now everyone just spends it to the servers -> planets gets unimportant
offical times used to show who's the best, but now its just this should I drive fast and maybe be lucky or should I drive safe?
it destroys the whole singleplayer in my opinion, as I said, not everbody has the time to wait 5 minutes for 1 offical time.
not to mention that those cup modes are so unatractive to level up that nearly nobody use it. I have so many points to complain about this game that I just don't play it anymore.
I can't even play for fun, because of this ,,nice'' timer, I can't play online because the servers are just FUN and LOL Servers, because there you get the most points and the ladder system is *****, because Nadeo can't handle those cheaters.
and seriously FXAA antialiasing? my new computer runs Tm2 with 120 fps, the graphics would be much better with 4x MXSAA or whatever

hihi, you know metoxys. during the time you've been nagging about this timer, you could have driven lots of nice official records already as well.
