MP 2.0 is mainly about "Title packs", but you will see what this is better closer to release.
As for the fact that ShootMania will bring more player to TrackMania, I gave arguments, but I mainly say that this is what I believe and so, there is only to wait to see if it is right. We have made a lot of effort at Nadeo to make the global project, and it is based more than one or some lines of comments, of course.

Re: The game is just starting!
I've heard many people say that they've enjoyed TM during LAN parties... not necessarily as the main game they play (that's usually an FPS or something)... but TM is a fun and nice change of pace.
And now I read Nadeo is supporting the use of TM2 at LAN events. Smart move.

Re: The game is just starting!
I think I agree with Hylis for this. I look at my (and people I know) personal experience with gaming and find that most times having a change of genre is most welcome. For example, after playing an intense clan war for an hour on TMC I would find it quite fun to join in a free for all death match. Now, in this case I have to go to alternate games such as COD, BF, CS etc (not that I do, but for examples sake) however, if there was something like those but part of MP2.0 then I would most definitely play that game.
So, on a bigger scale, I think (like Hylis said) there is a lower gaming time for TM in comparison to FPS's but if there was options to swap I would, from TM to SM or from SM to TM. Its like anything in life really. A break in a pattern or routine is usually fun, which is why I think SM will help TM up, not initially, but on the long run.

And I'm excited to learn what these title packs are about.

In October you posted to the blog and said:Hylis wrote:MP 2.0 is mainly about "Title packs", but you will see what this is better closer to release.
You said "enable players to make titles". Were you talking about "title packs"?Hylis wrote:Finally, we are working on many other topics as well. One of the most important is Maniaplanet 2.0. The main feature of this version is to enable players to make titles. Those are boxes that will be displayed at launch if you got the corresponding file, directly from within the game of from sharing sites. It will enable you to play on mode made by players and will provide services for this. One of them is the ability to have a ladder for it, with regions. It is yet to know if we will have this service ready for the launch of Maniaplanet 2.0.
Either way, it's very exciting!

Hmm, does this mean we will be able to set up our own versions of the maniaplanet games with different game modes? Or maybe to create a junction between TM and SM?Hylis wrote:yes, title packs
