This might sound strange after my reactions in the XAseco topic...
Maybe you can set up an git system and get the community involved in this project. I'd love to participate in this project.
When getting the community involved like this, you might get a bigger userbase.
I think you should start off with renewing the base (core - dedicated/database handling), after that the plugins might evolve rapidly...

Good idea, I can host the svn without any problem, if you want. I don't know if that's with Apache or not, but in all case, i have a server in a OVH datacenter (http://www.ovh.com) and so if it's needed i can install something without any problems (i'm the hoster of CartoonCraft servers, agroup of 10+ servers)
