Painfully slow update.

Whenever I update Maniaplpanet/Shootmania the update is painfully slow,like 1 megabyte ever 10-12 mins.
I checked to make sure it wasn't on my end,so far all I did was: make sure I have speed on other services (steam),restarted modem and port forwarded for Shootmania. my only other deduction is I am updating from a server far away. IDK the method that your using to update so maybe I need to change something or maybe it's working as intended and I am just unlucky with my ISP or something.
any confirmation on why my speeds are slow for just Shootmania updating would be nice.

You have awfully bad internet. Moreover, you're on another continent.
Also, any antivirus is an issue in this case, if it scans incoming packets.

Might be the distance from the server (I assume Nadeo uses one from France), that matters in your case.
