[Menu]Clips of MT
Well if you can remember back to TMS when the menu background was rotating around one of the maps (I think the name of it was "snake"?). Anyway, thinking of this sort of gave me this idea. The menu would have all the buttons and stuff but the background is what would be special. The menu background would go though all the tracks in you collection and using intros and outros with MT ghosts it would shuffle through just about 5-10 second clips from the MT on that track. Then when you downloaded another track it would add some MT from that one to the mix and it would be totally random and shuffled.
Re: [Menu]Clips of MT
I like the idea, as you have much diversity int the menu and can see some old maps you forgot already

I like the idea too. The menus of TMUF and TMNF are boring. The menu of TMS was good .(snake is right)
sorry , my english is terrible.

I think it would be a neat feature.
I do not hope that if the menus are not aesthetically pleasing, that you still consider your patronage

Re: [Menu]Clips of MT
Hmmm.... it means the menu would render the track and not play a video clip. We'd be forced to wait a little bit longer to load the menu than in previous TM games, but I still fully support the idea (it was said the maps load very fast).
Re: [Menu]Clips of MT
Remember that the lightmap information will be part of the track file, so rendering time is drastically reduced, as well as client-side errors. If loading up a replay or a whole clip of MT becomes too much, maybe just a default, slowly-moving, camera that moves around some of the recently edited tracks will fit the bill. This way, the dynamic, custom menu background is achieved, without the difficulty of rendering a whole clip of MT.

I like the idea very much! It would be refreshing if they put this in the game instead of a world globe or a standard image.
But the next question: will everyone really look at it? I mean, you want to race/build if you start TrackMania...

I like the idea too! Would be really nice to know what kinds of tracks you've built or downloaded already, and if you had nothing else to do, you could just play that track again, maybe because you haven't driven on it for a long time, or you want a challenge, or you just think the track is fun!
Maybe that could be combined with a Quick Race option in the main menu. You'd see a track in the main menu, and if you click on the Quick Race button then, you immediately go to that track and don't have to search for it in the tracks folder. Would be great in my opinion if that was built in too

But you also could just ignore it and do what you want to do. You could go into the editor, play a track in the Solo campaign or go on a server like normal, the background wouldn't affect that

Maybe you don't know what tracks you want to race on. The background could give you an idea what track to drive on, so you're saving lots of time which it would normally take to find a good track in your track collectionTorbenX wrote:will everyone really look at it? Exactly, very great idea, especially with that quick race - that will be a lot more comfortable and by that, they could more easily gather the community, BUT, they can't go way too far - they cannot make something totally modern, cause it'll, smore than somehow, ruin the game.
As you know, game has 4 things, which makes her a game:
1. Graphics.
2. Possibilities in the game.
3. A sense of the game, story (here eg. shooting games).
4. Game attributes: gameplay, main menu, HUD, optionally difficulty, etc.
Imo, the possibilities are the most important thing, cause they are building the whole game, and that makes the game very "colorful". What's also important, is that it should be those possibilites as much as possible. In TM2 case, the amount of them should be big, but not too big.
Why? I think you all know the answer.
