TM2 won't finish the update, won't start[fixed]

Some background: I've always had to start the game using a shortcut to maniaplanet:/// because the ManiaPlanet.exe simply will not start the game for me.

The game downloaded some updates the other day, then it says ManiaPlanet needs to be restarted to complete the update. Well, of course it tries to re-start it using the launcher, and ManiaPlanet.exe just doesn't work. Even when I try to open the game with the shortcut it just says the same thing.

This had happened before, but then the problem went away after a few days or weeks when I didn't touch the game.

Do you have TMUF or TMNF also installed? Or is Canyon the first game you have installed on this machine?

Canyon is the first and only TM game I have installed.

Well, I finally figured it out on my own. Turns out F-Secure Internet Security doesn't like the game, even though it's not specifically blocked or anything. If I "unload and continue with current firewall profile" the game starts just fine using ManiaPlanet.exe. Then I can just reload it afterwards. Curiously, I can't start the game using maniaplanet:/// anymore as then the game always claims it has updates to download. The same updates, every time. Weird.

Other players seem to have issue for launching TrackMania with F-secure too. Actually the update can only work fine if you launch TrackMania by using ManiaPlanet.exe.
