Secondary Hitscan Weapon With Unlagged

The main thing the game suffers from, in my opinion, is the lack of a hitscan weapon combined with unlagged as a secondary weapon -- that can be carried around at all times.

The hitscan weapon shouldn't be more powerful than the rocket (i.e. one shot shouldn't be equal to one rocket). However, it should be something that requires a bit of time to kill, yet not limited to simply causing enough damage to hand a kill to the next player. Ideally, the hitscan should give a +1 if the person perfectly continues to hit someone while dumping an entire load of energy (before recharge) -- example: 5 shots from a pulse laser gun in a sequence. The logic would be that it hits the persons armor enough times to create a heat and melts it creating a +1.

If the person fails to get a +1, the number is reset . This way if player A hits player B with 3 shots, while player C hits him with 2 shots, player C wouldn't be able to steal the +1. Each person's hitscan weapon will have a unique signature.

Another other possible option for a hitscan weapon is a sticky projectile that attaches to the opponent. Eventually enough sticky projectiles are attached to the opponent so that it would reach a critical mass, an explosion occurs, causing a +1. For the sake of example you could make it so it requires 5 sticky projectiles to reach this and only your own projectiles together would create the reaction necessary for the critical mass damage. The projectiles would require some kind of recharge so not to be endless spam fest.

The number 5 is just used for the example.

Unlagged is essential with any type of hitscan weapon otherwise ping advantage will be become too much of a factor.

Dude.

If you want to have hitscan weapons, go and play Team Fortress 2.

The laser is a very powerful and accurate hitscan weapon. It can be used by an attacker in Elite, or anyone standing on a laser platform. It is also known to some as a Railgun.
