Computer:

Intel Core i5-2500K S1155 Box
Gigabyte GeForce GTX670 OC
ASUS P8P67 LE (Rev 3.0)
2x1TB Samsung SpinPoint F3 HD103Sj 7200 U/min
3TB FANTEC DB-ALU3e 7200 U/min
128GB Crucial M4 MLC SSD
DDR3 8GB KIT (2x4GB) G.Skill PC3-10666 CL9
LG BH10LS30
Corsair TX650 V2 80+
Coolermaster Centurion 5II RC-502KKKN1 (B)
Mugen 2 Cooler
Windows 8 Enterprise

overclocks:

i5 2500k @ 4,7ghz
Gigabyte GTX 670 OC @1250/3750 mhz (1.23v with Voltage mod)

I am able to get 120fps on highest settings.

With my 570 I got about 90 fps on highest settings

I think your SLI is making trouble

Yeah, looking at your set-up and the fps your'e getting, something is obviously wrong on my side.

SLI is working as both cards shows +/- 65% usage and i get the same result with both nvidia and evga's SLI-profile. I will give it a try using one card only.

@ 2560X1440 GPU memory usage is around 1200 Mb so there should be some headroom....

Thanks for the reply.

You might want to try running CCleaner, defragmenting the HDD, rebooting your computer before playing. These things usually sorted out inexplicable performance problems in Maniaplanet. It's weird.

Thank you for replying!

I do those things on a regular bases, except defragmenting as i am on an SSD ;)

I am also on a 2 week old, clean install of Win 8 Pro so the OS should not be so cluttered anyway.

I will try one card only, i did see in here problems related to SLI so could be that.

Thanks again.

Ultra lightmaps just enables a new setting in the track editor when you go to calculate shadows when building a map. It has no bearing when actually playing tracks.

I get between 60 and 70 fps on most maps with my hardware. I do run dual 1920x1200 monitors. But I only play the game on one of them. You can see the rest of my specs in my signature. I run on highest settings on everything with a few exceptions:

Bloom: None (because it's easier to see without it)

Water reflections: Medium (because I'm rarely close enough to the water to really care what it looks like)

Lightmap Quality: Very Fast (because your game still plays with higher lightmaps if they are included in the map. This just means you're willing to play the game with lower quality lightmaps if the author only included the lower quality ones. This saves on map load times.)

Quality of cars: High, Medium opponents (because I don't really care how good my opponents look)

Opponents limit count: Enabled
Opponents maximum count: 12 (I don't need to see more than 12 cars around me at any given time. This is for both performance and logistics)

Audio quality: Normal (there is a bug with High quality that will cause your engine sound to cut out while driving... I'm not sure if its been fixed lately or not... I haven't tested it)

On the same dialog where you choose your resolution, you also have a ticker for "High Definition". This enables High Definition textures in-game. They're actually a seperate set of textures from the LoDef ones. I can play with High Definition on, but then I get these moments where the framerate drops considerably. And it's really annoying. So I just play with LoDef textures, because with motion blur on... I can't really tell a huge difference anyway.

Thank you for the explanation eyebo.

I have Motion blur and Bloom "off" as i don't like those effects anyway  , Waterreflections medium, will also try "low", as you say, most often your'e too far away to notice anyway. All else the same as you. I have not yet tried turnig off the HD-textures. I will give that a try also.

I have also posted on the Nvidia-forums about the performance of the SLI-Profile included with the drivers for this game. I see no change in fps using a single gpu VS. 2 in SLi. Chance is there may be something fishy going on with the profile from Nvidia, i don't know.

Anyway, thank you for your reply.

Turning off high-definition textures significantly improves fps performance in the game.
