Setting Up a Dedicated Elite Server on a Linux Box

A friend and I recently decided to set up a couple servers for Elite. However we found that documentation on this subject was at times scattered and a bit lacking. As a result this friend (lvlint67 as he is known on the intertubes) has created a quick reference for anyone else looking to set up an elite server along with those looking to set up the SMAdmin tools.
