Harder Nadeo Medal

Post by wiidesire-2 »

Hello community,

so I want to suggest something.

Maybe it's because I'm a pro player, but the Medals are a joke. I understand that not all players are pro, for those Silber/Gold will be enough, but the Nadeo Medal is way to easy to beat. Even if I think Gold Medal is a joke, too, something must be changed.. It shoud be a challenge to get the highest medal, but for example I play the map once ( then I know the map) then I drive it a second time -> Nadeo Medal.

Or instead of making all medals better you could make a 5th medal..^^

Thanks for reading,

Max

I do also think that the Nadeo medal is too easy to beat. On almost every track. And I'm not a real pro. :P
But I remember BayC3. On this map Nadeo was also a challenge for me. ;)
But if I see some StarTrack author medals, I still didn't beat them until now. Some of them have been driven by pros, it's REALLY hard to get them.
(If there will be a Platform mode, I'd suggest to make a Nadeo medal with 0 attempts AND a good time. That would be more challenging. ;))

So wii, I think you're right.^^
(But please no 5th medal! :P)

No 5th medal? Like Nadeo black or something? I think that would actually be a GOOD idea, considering that I've never gotten a single Nadeo medal, since my career started with Sunrise... :-? Call me an idiot, or whatever, or a noob, but I don't think making it harder would be necessarily good. But maybe I'm in the minority. Totally up to the players and Nadeo to decide. But, one thing I would petition heartily to see is to recruit some pro skinners from the community to have them create "official" skins, again, like we had in Sunrise. Those guys were just totally badass!

I don't like the idea of an additional 5th Nadeo-medal.
The Nadeo-medal is the author time. That means, it is the best time the Nadeoteam was able to drive. So how should they make a better medal with a better time?
If you need better times to beat, you have the records driven by players in the official mode. Go, beat them and understand, that the people at Nadeo are developers and no gamers ;)

The StarTrack medals are just jokes. We were asked to drive slow times, so that a kb driver can beat them.

+1 to the idea
I agree with the rest. It must be harder to get
Nadeo medal -> pro player time
gold medal -> current Nadeo medal
silver medal -> current gold medal
bronze medal -> current silver medal
For me bronze medals at this moment are just a joke. It is really hard to achieve a bronze one even with driving 2x slower than usual! I don't belive that the majority of players cannot achieve better times.

Well, maybe...at least as long as there are ghosts for all four medals--the Nadeo times in this incarnation of TM (NF/UF) are invisible, and for me, impossible to even attempt because I don't know what to go for.

I think that you are forgetting that we have played TMU for years - the Nadeo medals were not easy when you first started. As time has passed, our skills have improved way beyond the early Nadeo times. I imagine that TM2's times will be hard to start with, but a few years down the line we will be able to beat them by many seconds.

Hehe maybe, it will be fun to find out ^^

I find it amusing, but I have heard players who say they never even knew there were author medals. But still, that is why there are four grades of medals - not everyone can expect to be skilled enough to get all four. I agree that author medals have seemed too easy in the past, and I think I would prefer to see the top medal a little harder, even if it does take years of practice to attain it ;)

That said I have never really paid much attention to the author medals as in TMU - I always aimed for the best official times instead. However in Trackmania Wii (different developer, and the coast environment handling was not the same), as there are no real official times the goal for me became to get 100% of the author medals. Some author times in that campaign were really easy and some were really hard and frustrating, but at the end of the day the more frustrating ones were more satisfying once achieved.
