Re: Open beta!
I think that people that understand why we do this will have more trust in us to make their game a success. It was, I believe, a truly strategic decision that can make the community much bigger and solid in the weeks and months to come. It would have been a lesser decision to keep the date of tomorrow, especially the people that trust us for real, the people that knows that our goal is to succeed with capacity to stay agile and full of resources.
The main point of the open beta is to reach much more players to discover, test and adapt the game for the success of it. Meanwhile, we will resume our work on Trackmania as soon as tomorrow with Stadium and Valley in the same horizons we had before, with maybe a month more maximum. Even if it is difficult to see, we are often making things that are both useful for track and shoot.

Re: Open beta!
As long as you still keep working on Stadium and Valley to release them at their proper release dates (so in the next few months), I absolutely support your decision. Storm is still fun and even though it won't be released tomorrow, I'm looking forward to seeing all the nice stuff you will include in future

I think lots will be disapointed, but true lovers of Nadeo and Trackmania and Shootmania will support this decision.
Unless its only to create more players in the beta fase.
When its to upgrade the game the will understand, and when the dont, the are a bunch off *******

So thanks again all at Nadeo and all the testers, Great job

Re: Open beta!
I respect this decision Hylis and understand reaching more people. Please try not to look in a bubble with Shootmania, it may not be something for everyone. However, you promise about Trackmania a few times now, we must trust you on this one - we need Valley asap pleaseHylis wrote:I think that people that understand why we do this will have more trust in us to make their game a success. Re: Open beta!
The open beta is a good decision.
That the delay comes 1 day before the original release is... well it's not the conventional way, but since you could already get the game before the actual release, not that big of a deal.

Re: Open beta!
We decided it sooner to make the open beta, but because of many other topics to be discussed, decisions to be taken, we did it just one day before the last day we can do it. Until last week, the open beta was scheduled for the 6th of February, for example. But some new information made it better for the 12th. Alinoa threatened me last Friday in order to be able to say it to players right now ^_^ And while I agree it would have been better, it was too difficult with many people to be synchronized on the announcement for the information to be translated and relayed around.
