Should Nadeo make a feedback system like in the example (see link) for their games?

Better feedback system - as soon as possible!

Post by Ravior »

To be honest, theres much things Nadeo should learn regarding transparency and interaction with the players.
One of the sides its not good at all is in the way feedback is consumed by the company. I just found out about a system which does that much better. Please have a short look at it and say in the poll if you think something like this could be helpful here, too:

http://www.planetside2.com/roadmap

Just investigate this a little and you see that it is much more clear what players want and what not.

AND A HUGE plus on the system shown is also that players KNOW that they are heared so they DON'T NEED TO BELIEVE IT! So this actually helps nadeo AND the players.

Everything needed would be some devs that create this system or its been bought somewhere mabye.

Also, I know that Planetside 2 (the example) is "play for free" - so that means its even more important for it being like players want it, but I don't see any difference why such a system couldn't be helpful here, too!

Question goes out to nadeo if they would do such stuff for the good of themselves AND the players here too.
I just think that it would be awesome... who wouldnt agree? Lets see... vote for better Feedback and thus more transparency on what the Developer does we even support with our money! ;) :)

Honestly, except the dazzling GUI and the score, I don't really see much difference to the forum here.
I've been browsing your example and I can't see direct feedback from the developpers, so what is better there?

The people from Nadeo are discussing with us, and this a lot. You should read the posts from Nadeo's big brain Hylis...

A high rating does also not automatically mean that the developpers will implement or drop an idea, they still have the last word about it anyway ;)

And the like/dislike was discussed a long way back in TrackMania forum, but it was decided not to make use of it.

It is simply the freedom of Nadeo to develop like they are doing. They don't have to open their strategy in detail to everyone, but they already partially do.
I prefer Nadeo to work on their games than on a overloaded website btw.
Let other companies work differently and spend as many ressources as they can spend.
Please do not forget Nadeo is a relatively small company.
And for that they are doing a impressive job

The idea of a feedback system is interesting, but perhaps to late for Nadeo, for the current development,
or not adequate for how they work.
Therefore I can't vote, it would be rather
Perhaps! (o)

Since we look at what players are doing in the game and change our todo list accordingly, we adapt often. So, we can not simply add something on the public todo list if we can not remove it simply. If we remove things, some players would be disappointed, which is the negative part and some are even goblins

We would have to spend hours to explain why. When you look at reactions on progressive jump or +0, you see that it is difficult to have a simple way to share intentions, which is kind of logical if our job is complex, even if some players easily say that we are doing 'so stupid' things.

Our way to do it is to provide the tools for players to do more of what they want with some parts of the game. And if you ask to be capable to do everything, you then should look more at SDK and programming languages than Maniaplanet and make your own public todo list while being said by some that you are lacking of love for your game like you did just yesterday.

Hoooooooooo I have an incredible idea ! :D
Why not make a feedback system like MLG does or even FireFall ? :)
Exemple :

http://feedback.firefallthegame.com/for ... a-feedback
http://feedback.majorleaguegaming.com/f ... back-forum

Plzzz nadeo not long to do it and very cool for community and nadeo :thx:

It's the exact same thing as for PlanetSide2, so I guess the answer will be the same.

For what do we need this?

It works great the way it is. I don't want problems to be rated, because otherwise, little bugs and minor problems will be overseen by nadeo.

The highest score would get, who says what most of the other think of. And many ideas are based on minds of individual people. We would see things on the top like "More guns" or "Remove the +0" etc.

The majority of forum browsers will also be predominant compared to beginners features, for example etc.

Maybe the ravior system can be helpful for us, if players to that between them, since I would not use the votes to decide what to do, but to help players discuss between them. It is hard to make priority out of a list like that:
http://forum.maniaplanet.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=15878

Maybe it can clarify a little, but rare are the systems that are better than a brain reading and trying to understand why. If every player would do it with the knowledge of how long does it takes, thinking about the real impact on the game, such as performances, exploits and other game design specifics, then it would probably work fine, but since I still have difficulties to do it after 15 years of doing it, full time with much more knowledge of the projects, I doubt so many players can do it, even if many think they are capable of (btw you can find them easily, they are the most likely to insult devs ^_^)

Yeahaaaa ^^ I understooohoood xD

I replied to that already and said I'm sorry, ok? ;) :) I'm your friend :)

Anyway, thanks for your replies on this topic, it clearly brought up some conclusions I didn't have when thinking about such a feedback system. :)

Thanks to you and I think it really goes down to the fact that we are more than numbers, in many ways.

There is a way to get deeper into things.

By the way, a nice example of what I rode this morning:
http://forum.maniaplanet.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=16038

it can moves some priorities, and I don't want to give my own way to answer some wishes, since I don't want to disappoint, but I try to give some feature or release when I feel we are getting closer to it

http://forum.maniaplanet.com/viewtopic. ... 72#p139972

There is maybe a lack of a clear display, but I don't have time to make a synthetic view of what have been said.

Thanks again for trying to improve the place

(and I will stop to bother you for your post ^_^)
