A friend can't enter Maniaplanet

A friend of mine is having issues entering maniaplanet. When he tries it prompts for his uid and pw. When he enters those he is told they are wrong. He's tried 'Forgot password' and 'Register' and it just keep sending him back to the login. When he tried the 'Forgot Password' route it informed him he didn't exist. He is very interested in the game and the ancillary aspects and he needs help. Thanks.

Did he already create a new ManiaPlanet account?
Because you first have to create a account, where you can add the key for the game you have bought.

If he already has a login, he shall try first on the player page: http://player.maniaplanet.com/

Yes I had a mania planet account, I could login play the game no problem but when I tried to go to player page or add buddies I was unable to because I had misplaced password, tried "forgot passwod button" put in username and email addy and it would come up with "there is no mail in the account". I finally got it to work after about 4 hours of cursing this blasted machine.
