[B3.1] Unable to raise blocks

Post by eyebo »

I haven't figured out how to reproduce this yet (maybe someone else has). Sometimes when placing blocks that should be able to be raised off the ground, they refuse to raise. It's as if the game thinks they must be placed on the ground. I had it happen with 10-3-4 and with 4-1-2. After a while... and moving the block into different positions, it finally works to raise the block (I use the scroll wheel to raise/lower blocks).

I'll try to figure out a way to reproduce it soon.

There may be something in this log about it:

That was from when I was editing my track.

Eventually the block always raises but sometimes it takes quite some serious scrollwheeling/wheelscrolling before it does. :|

I find this happens a lot to me when I go from underground (building tunnels) then switching to above ground and I find blocks locked to ground. Sometimes have to switch back to underground, raise a block to ground level, then switch back.

I have the feeling though it only happens with ground bound blocks like trees and such.

No, it's happening to me with Signs and Platform/Arena blocks and stuff too. It's behaving as if it were a ground bound block, when it's not.

I have the same issues sometimes!
Sadly, I cannot say when they occur!
But I'll definitely keep an eye on that!

Well, I had my eye out last night. It was sitting here next to me, taking a look

The last thing I did was placing a GT road on the normal ground level. I had some type 2 terrain premade to continue building there. I wanted to place the same GT road block on top of that terrain but the icon was red. Quickly calculating 1+1=2 so I have to scroll 2 times up and I can place te block. It took me 11 scrolls with the mousewheel to get the icon green and place the block.

It's probably important what I did before placing the second to last block but I can't remember. Afterwards I did some more testing but was unable to reproduce it :?

11 seems close to the depth of the canyon, did you place some canyon block/terrain that would have lowered the cursor ?

No, the whole track is on groundlevel and up. I might have placed some of the new water tiles first though...

I've done some testing and what you say here is reproducable indeed. Then the amount of mouse scrolls fit exactly :)
