I try to convert some maps of Forever for the Masters mappack and one map crash when I try to open it. I don't know why because I don't see special things on Forever.
Here is the map : http://bczteam.com/~jonthekiller/TM2/Ma ... llenge.Gbx

Re: [B3.1] Crash when convert an old Stadium maps
I made a thread about this and only saw this one afterwards. Deleted mine and gonna paste the text here now, maybe it helps somehow:
Crash file: http://www.vinummusik.de/Media/LogCrash_005BAFF3.txt
After choosing a TMNF RPG track and clicking on "edit" in the editor menu, all the files for the track are being loaded and once finished the loading screen shows up. The track loads about half way and then the game crashes.
I tried this with several RPG tracks. Most of them like these are not working:
http://tmnforever.tm-exchange.com/main. ... 48290#auto
http://tmnforever.tm-exchange.com/main. ... 89901#auto
http://tmnforever.tm-exchange.com/main. ... 10861#auto
The above tracks all have heavy mixing and the ones below not (these are working):
http://tmnforever.tm-exchange.com/main. ... 54305#auto
http://tmnforever.tm-exchange.com/main. ... 36956#auto
http://tmnforever.tm-exchange.com/main. ... 00084#auto
So I suspect it has something to do with the mixing.
Would be great to have this fixed and if not possible to at least know what exactly is causing these crashes.

Re: [B3.1] Crash when convert an old Stadium maps
First, don't forget that mixmapping is not an official feature of the MapEditor, so when you use it, keep in mind that you are in a mine field out of the safe Nadeo territory
): 8-3-3 (in TMUF, so 7-3-3 in Stadium2) at the west border of the constructible zone (camera looks at North when you open the map). Without mixmap, you cannot place this block here because of its tiny clip. Just remove this block in TMUF and you will be able to load the map in Stadium2.
So this example may be useful for other broken maps: perhaps they cannot be loaded not because of inside mixmap but because of clips outside of the constructible area, on the borders? If this theory is true, many maps could be saved with just a few modifications in TMUF editor. But I'm not sure, you can test it and share your feedbacks here...

Your map is interesting because it don't seem to have mixmap but it makes the game crash. In fact, it does have one mixmap block (the ugly ducklingjonthekiller wrote:I don't know why because I don't see special things on Forever.

Re: [B3.1] Crash when convert an old Stadium maps
Yes, it is, I have checked this weekend (and forgot post here
)
Old maps with checkpoints placed with hexa will have this bug. (2 CPs at the same place for example) like here. I have installed TMUnlimiter, remove this block and the map works in TM².
It's not possible at least to give a message (Your map isn't compatible, please check hexa modifications) instead crash?

Very good ideajonthekiller wrote:It's not possible at least to give a message (Your map isn't compatible) instead crash?

ingenuous players would not understand this and complain or request automatic fixjonthekiller wrote:please check hexa modifications

Perhaps better write "Error: The map was modified with an external tool without adaption to TrackMania² Stadium, cannot load it"
