[B3.1][Canyon]Lags on maps with new blocks

Hi Nadeo!

Just played some tracks offline and experienced low framerates on tracks with the new blocks released with the latest updated. Normally, my framerate lies somewhere between 60-40 fps, but on these tracks it drops to 20-35 fps.

Examples:
- SequoiaFever ~ 20 fps
- Dumbwald ~25-35 fps

on the other hand
Last Resort ~35-45 fps

Not sure if the framerate on the latter one is better due to the mod used, the lower display costs (< 10000) or if there are just some of the heavier blocks missing.

Edit:
Just realised that I also get lags playing online. Even on maps that didn't lag before the latest updates.

My Configuration
WinVista
NVIDIA GeForce GT 220
Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2,50GHz
4 GB RAM

Game settings
Fast
low resolution

It is sure the trees add to the complexity.

Just did a bench using the replay editor on SequoiaFever, average is 56.5 fps with "Very Nice" preset settings and 1920x1200, resolution high.
With Fast settings, standard resolution, I get 133fps on 1920x1200.

But strange thing, I did two different runs, but on both replays there is a sudden drop in the middle. So the bench says min fps 3.4 :oops:

Yes, there are definately spikes with even lower framerates. I'm just not sure if it is due to the new blocks, or something else, as I experienced low framerates on older tracks as well. Might this be due to the way the shadows are calculated since one of the last updates?

At least it cannot be the lightmap as it is calculated once.
drops to very low fps are mostly due to other things happening on the system, e.g. reloading of textures, or other activities outside of ManiaPlanet.
If they appear at the same place, it could be related to the complexity of the track there, and what has to be displayed then.
