RoC - ladder problem

Post by Qitay »

Hello!
I guess I found a bug in ladder.

This is the screen showing ladder after RoC -

And now, this is the screen which I took today -

Looks strange, eh? NOEH didn't lose any LPs and gained 3 positions as a result.

By looking at the ladder, I can say that players from outside the europe (NOEH is from Brazil) didn't lose any LP at all - at the moment there are 111 players who are over 90k - 100 from europe (as it should be) and 11 from other continents. I think it should be taken as a whole, 100 players over 90k, no matter where they are from.

I hope it's just a bug and it will be fixed.
If this is how the new continental ladder works, I'm really disappointed. Many players from europe can now change their location to other continents and play for ladder without a loss of LP.

It’s important case and I hope someone from NADEO will give an explanation about it.
Thanks!

I think you didn't get the point. Read qitay's post again.
The ladder 'delay' is obvious, everbody knows that. Here we have a serious problem which can destroy the top of ladder completely.

I agree with Dawid, isnt fair i make 100k, once i run alone in my continent and have no opponents. I prefeer change my location to Europe. We need a global ranking!

Rest assured that we thougth about it and that it is not possible to change of continents without a big loss of points (I think you go back to 60K) If it is possible today, tells me, it means that it is not yet developped or that it is bugged, but I am sure it was on the list.

There is no meaningful world ranking, there is only continental ones. The mistake is to display a world ranking, not the way the system is done. World ranking may appear one day if you do a "currency conversion" (how many European LP's are equivalent to South America one's) thanks to LAN events for example to match the top level.

I'm not sure he is willing to try, now.

There is no meaningful ranking at all. Where is Klovni in the ladder ranking? 63th of Finland. Where is oNio? Where is Zypher?

If you want to take the three i mentionned as references to establish your "currency conversions", you are to face surprises... What do you conclude if the Finnish Nr. 63 beats the French Nr. 1? (which is likely to happen)

Thank you for your answer Hylis. Ranks 1, 2, 3 and 5 changed their location for RoC and we didn't have any message about coming back to 60k and we still have our LP, so I guess it's not done yet. But let us go back to Europe before developing it :D.

On the other hand, I don't really like the idea of no world ladder. As you can see from this post such ladder has no point.

At the moment there are only 2 real non-european players in top35. And I think that number won't be bigger with new ladder, the community in those countries is simply too small.

keep in mind that continental ladder on TM is in beta atm, unfortunately. We will look at this of course.

To see the "exchange rate" maybe we can organize online events on TM, with top ladder players. The "inter continental cup!" (cool name, at least ^_^)

Canyon multiplayer ladder needs to be global.

There are not enough players in Canyon to support continental ladders. Europe is the only nation that has more than a single player that participates in RoC.

What other TrackMania game has not had a global ladder? All single player aspects of TrackMania games likewise support global ranking?
